14 weeks, 5 days

So far my co-workers are enjoying the blue and pink funfetti cupcakes I brought in to tell them about my pregnancy. It's great to see thier reactions. I have only had to explain it to a couple people cause they didn't "get it". We all work staggered shifts so the fun will continue until the last people get here at 4pm. These are pictures of my girlfriends helping me with the cupcakes!

14 week belly post

As mine gets bigger, Mat would like to document his getting smaller. Hopefully we will do this weekly. I am pooching out above and below the belly button. Kinda strange! When I stand up and start feeling around on my belly, I do notice some changes. It's all very surreal!

13 weeks and 6 days

Okay, I signed up for Daycare. Yeah, I can't believe I am typing those words. Apparently the Turner daycare list is incredibly long and it's first come-first serve. We will see!

It's not really in the building but it's "close". I live about 4 miles from work. The daycare is about 6 miles from home. So it's about 2 miles further than work. My old boss and his wife (who both work here) say it's so much better that it's not inside this building. Don't know what that means but I am taking their word for it.

My friend has been on this list since December and hasn't moved one spot. It's basically one in-one out. And if you aren't ready when the daycare has a spot for you, then you have to pay to hold the spot...or give it up and move to the back of the list. If you are ready and the day-care isn't, then you have to find somewhere else to go until the daycare is ready for your child. Apparently, it's a nightmare. But it's very trust worthy.

And of course, ridiculously expensive. I shutter to even think about how we are going to be able to afford it. But as my boss says, you get what you pay for. You want a cheaper daycare, then you are going to get a "cheaper" daycare. You get what you pay for. It's also more expensive for newborns since they require so much attention. As the child learns new things (to eat, to go to the bathroom) the cost goes down a bit. Ahh, I am going to love spending an entire paycheck on daycare!

13 weeks, 1 day

I have to say that today is a great relief to have made it this far. I am blessed. Things are going well. There seems to be lots of stretching and "things" going on downtown but whenever I feel this way, I hook up the doppler to quickly find the heart beat. Yesterday I did really good and found it right away. Other than that, it has been fun being a bit more open about the pregnancy. I told my hair dresser last night.

The other day, someone gave me an updated version of the "what to expect when you are expecting" and he was reading it to me last night. He kept saying, "are you awake". I would say "yes", even though I was totally sleeping. And he would read something interesting. I would make some comment and then continue sleeping. It was funny when I thought about it this morning. He is totally into all this.

Any email I wrote to my friend Kelly who was freaking about possibly starting to TTC.

"Yeah, I am freaked too. Who wouldn't be! But Mat is only getting older and it kinda just happened pretty quick. So here we go!

But I would love to have a prego friend. I have no one that is pregnant here. It totally sucks and I really feel totally alone. But I am just going to stay focused on trying to not gain ridiculous amounts of weight and to try and to stay positive.

I don't really have a problem with needles. I just don't look. I needed to get my blood draw alot at the beginning and even more during my miscarriage. All these levels raise up when you are pregnant and then after you have a miscarriage they have to fall back down. So I was going back like every other day for blood work. But it took just a couple seconds and I was back in my car in 15 mins. I think the drive there might have been longer than the actual appointment!

I am all about the epidural. They already asked me if I wanted one and I said "HELLS YES"! From what I can tell on the baby story shows, you can't even see them give you the epidural so I am not really scared about that. It goes in your back. I have never been in a hospital so that will be super strange. I haven't EVER been in the hospital for anything except once when I had an urinary infection.

The watermelon thing...yeah. I am pretty freaked out by that but I am keeping my fingers crossed that I will have to have a c-section. I don't know why but my sister had two and that seems the "norm" to me so I am hoping that for some reason, I will have to have that. If they ask me, I am certainly signing up!! But lots of people have had the watermelon come out their hole so if it must be done, then so be it. Just part of life baby.

It's been pretty exciting so far. Mat is 110% into it so he is like my 2nd doctor. I haven't read a single book and he is on his 10th. So all I do is ask Mat "Can I do this" & "Can I do that". I like that I am getting bigger/fatter and not caring. I get new clothes which is a great new perk. I just got two new pair of maternity pants and I am loving them. Amy is going to help me find a new bar cause I am growing out of mine super fast. And I get to see you all when I am super prego (at Karla's wedding). Still sad about Cedar Point but oh well.

Seriously, if you have any more questions/concerns/freak outs, just ask. Cause I am probably freaking out about the same thing!! Just limit your watching of Baby Story and Maternity Ward. You might freak yourself out for good!"

12 weeks, 6 days

Gosh, I am bad about keeping this blog!! I wil try to be better. So this weekend we told the grandparents and family members. Everyone was very happy for us. We got lots of loevly emails and phone calls. Mat's grandma Frances squealed. Grandma Gilda got teary eyed. My grandmas were super excited. Grandma Beckett told me she didn't think this was ever going to happen. Ha! Anyway, so that was fun.

So we had our NT scan yesterday. The nurse came in and started the ultrasound. It was soooooooo cool to see everything so clearly. The baby wasn't moving much so both DH and I looked straight for the heartbeat and saw it right away. That was quite a sigh of relief. I was pretty uncomfortable because I really full bladder. But the full bladder was appreciated but the doctor. The nurse couldn't get the baby to flip so they could see the back of the neck (for the down syndrome measurement). The nurse said nothing which was really disconcerning. So after poking around for like 5 mins (and saying nothing) she said that the doctor would be in. So we were sweating for what seemed like forever until the doctor came in and put our minds at ease. Everything looked great! He pointed out everything that we were supposed to be seeing. At this point, the baby was moving all around and they were able to take all the measurements and such. It was great!! I gave some blood and we were outta there! I should get my blood results in one week.

Last night I finally got to tell my girlfriends. Amy, Amanda, Jess, Angel and Katie were all there. They were so excited and loved the magnets. Woohoo! I called Kelly and Karla at half-time and told them. They were super excited too. I told E this morning. Everyone seems genuinely excited for us.

Kelly had a list of questions for me so here are my answers.
what room is the nursery going to be and what is it going to look like?: The nursery is going to be a "map" related/themed. Mat and I are obsessed with maps. We actually already have several that we have collected over our years from all of our travelling. I know it's more boy-like but it's going to be cute even if it's a girl. We are converting the back bedroom into the nursery. So any decorating ideas you can send them my way. Jess, your HGTV watching skills might come in handy.

when did you find out?: We found got the first positive result on November 10. Apparently I am a late ovulator cause I still had no positive result one week after my period was due. The same thing happened the month before when I miscarried.

how far along were you in july when you miscarried?: I wasn't too far along when I miscarried in July. I got that positive result in August and the bleeding started that following week. It was a natural miscarriage which was okay. It sucked but it was okay. I figured I would be opened about the m/c since 1 in 3 pregnancies end that way. Chances are, there will be several of us who will or might have had one unfortunately. (Way to be Debbie Downer Kenzi!!!)

As I told the girls last night, thank goodness I used BC for all these years cause I got preggers right away, both times! Mat likes to tell people he has good aim.

how are you feeling? pukey at all?: The first weeks in December, I was a bit queasy. Every morning I felt like I was gonna puke but didn't. It was so annoying. Then when we went to Spain it all kinda went away. But I figured it was just cause we were constantly on the go. Then since I have gotten back, I have been feeling okay. I think the pressure of keeping this all a secret was getting to me cause I feel like a big weight has been lifted. Honestly, now that you all know, it's so much better.

It's been a struggle to get from appointment to appointment without completely freaking out. Having a miscarriage can bust your confidence like no other. But Mat is always right there supporting me and getting me back on the positive side of things. I go back to the doctor at the end of this month which will be great and yet another sigh of relief.

do you have any names picked out?: We do have a girl name picked out. Amanda was asking if we were into old, new, funky names. We are more names based on our family history. But of course we are going to keep you guessing until Baby T is born.

Great 12 week appointment!

Soooooo we went in and the doctor said that she was just going to listen to the h/b. We were kinda bummed cause I thought we would have an ultrasound. Mat and I have a doppler at home and in the past, we have found the heartbeat really quickly. So the doctor whips out the doppler (that looks just like ours at home) but then she was having problems finding the h/b. She was like "oh well :wink wink: too bad I will have to get the ultrasound" Yeah! Mat just winks at me. I know he could find it real quick but who doesn't want an ultrasound! On the outside of the belly this time. No getting naked! Woohoo!

Yeah for week 12!
So she whips out the ultrasound machine and we see our little baby going all crazy! His/Her arms & legs were moving all around! It was so cool! Then it would stop and be still. Then move again! Sooooooo cool. I just can't believe it's going to get even cooler than this. The doctor took a couple pictures that just look like blobs. I'll post them tonight. The moving images were just so much better. I let Mat call the families cause he was just so excited.

12 weeks and 2 day

If all goes well today (appointment at 4pm) we are going to tell Grandparents and Mat's brother either today, or this weekend, or whenever we get around to it.

If all goes well on Monday (appointment at 2:30pm) we are going to tell my friends at our OSU viewing party at my friend Amy's house.

Here is what I decided on to get my girlfriends and Kari. The ornaments were too expensive. Obviously it's going to say 2008. Sorry about the old picture.

11 weeks 5 days

So this week is the 12 week mark. I am trying not to get too excited but hoping all goes well, I want to finally tell my girlfriends next week! So although Christmas is over, I was thinking about getting these ornaments from cafepress.com. Giving them to E, Jess, Amanda, Amy, Kelly, Karla, Katie and Angel. And of course the only real Auntie, Kari. I might just order 10 just for fun.

PS: Mat thinks I am putting way to much thought into this but I already feel bad for not telling them for 13 weeks. AND, they are really special to me and I want to tell them in a special way

In other news, and probably more imporante news, WE HEARD A HEARTBEAT! Mat got me a 3 month subscription to FHM for Christmas. I was a little confused until I flipped the paper over and it's really a Fetal Heart Monitor of 3 months! He almost had me stumped! So we finally got to try it last night and after Mat tried forever, I got a heartbeat in about 3 mins. It takes a woman, right?! It was so aswesome to hear. I am going to try not to do it daily so I don't freak myself out. So Wednesday will be the 12 week mark. I have an ultrasound on Thursday with my regular Dr. And then the first of 3 BIG ultrasounds on Monday.

Okay, I just lied to my girlfriends

I feel really guilty but I just flat out lied (in an email) and told them that I was not pregnant. I feel really, really bad and I hope they later understand my reasoning. I just want to wait until the first tri is over or at least until we are at week 11 or 12 to tell friends. I even think I will be nervous to share the news at that point. Ugh! This is hard!

These are the pictures from my appointment on Dec 7.

I should NOT complaining but...

I should NOT complaining since m/s means that I am still pregnant but man I feel like crap! I have probably taken one sick day in the last 7 years of working (knock on wood). I am just not used to this queasy stomach and the about-to-puke-but-don't-puke feeling!

Now that I know what this is...I'm at 8 weeks today! Woohoo! I am going for another u/s on Friday with the OB. I can't wait! Other than the m/s, all is going well so far ::fingers crossed::!

Today's update

Today's update: I have had some m/s all week. But then over the weekend it stopped which now has me worried. I still feel/look really bloated and I am ready for that to go down. I have another u/s on Friday and I can't wait to get there and see if we see anything new. It will be our first appointment with the OB. Woohoo! Fingers crossed that the symptoms have just subsided for the weekend and will be back giving me confidence. I am trying to continue to workout. Mostly walking but it's getting colder so I might have to move things inside.

I have felt like crap pretty much all week

I have felt like crap pretty much all week. It's gotten worse over the past couple days. I feel like I am right on the edge of puking...but I don't. It's like the worse feeling! I remember others saying they felt this way. Is it m/s? Who knows but I get it throughout the entire day. I was feeling so ill last night that I just went to bed (9:30pm) just to hopefully stop feeling this way. But I got up this morning and still felt the same way. Boo! It may have started last week but this week it's worse. I hate feeling this way! Other than that I am just bloated so I am ready for that to go down and a belly to appear.

Nest Questions:
I know this question probably has been asked many times over...and I know it's different for everyone. But I workout pretty regularly and I don't seem to be losing anything which is find (of course). But today I feel like my "pooch" is protruding from my pants!! I am probably just bloated. Today I feel like all my co-workers are staring at my "pooch" and wondering what the deal is. Just wondering, when did you start to show?

Has your doctor given you a due date or have you just figured it out on your own. My dr hasn't mentioned a due date to me but maybe that comes further down the line. TIA!

What a 30th!!

Let me just tell you...What a 30th b-day I had! It was simply wonderful!
The day started with a trip to doctors office. I was soooooooo nervious. But everything was fine! So he/she might be a little bigger than a grain of rice but everything looks great! I am measuring 6 weeks and 6 days so that is perfect with where I thought I was. We saw a tiny tiny heartbeat which was the best sight EVER! We also finally told our parents and Kari/Jarrod. They are really excited and we got thier reactions on video tape. It was perfect! We still want to wait to tell friends/extended family till after the first triments. Our first OB appointment and u/s next week.

Back to my birthday. I got so many text messages and emails saying happy b-day. Mat had the day off as well and that was great. We slept in. Hung out. When to Cheesecake Factory for lunch. Went to Best Buy to decide if I want to keep my b-day gift from Mat. He got me an itouch and of course I kept it! It's great! And then came back home and hung out. I went for a walk with the dog and then we went to Stoney River Legendary Steakhouse for dinner. YUMM! So it was a fabulous day!

THEN today is just an extension because I came and I had some beautiful white iris and...looks like...lilies waiting to open at my desk. My friends from college (Elizabeth, Jess, Amy, Kelly, Karla and Amanda) sent me flowers at work not knowing that I took yesterday off.

THEN Katie just walked in (6am mind you) with a huge tray of homemade Strawberry cupcakes (my fav). I am soooooooooo excited to eat them although they don't sound really good right now (it's only 8am), I am sure they will be this afternoon.

Anyway, it was great to be reminded that I am so loved!

Having him home first helps...

Mat came home last night and but my nerves to rest. Things are going okay for me. No cramping, bleeding, etc. Which as I posted before, almost kinda worries me. I posted over the weekend that my pregnancy symptoms mysteriously went away and so now I am kinda freakin. But I get my next u/s tomorrow and that is going to give me a huge sigh of relief (barring everything is okay). My fingers are crossed that just because my symptoms have subsided that I am still pregnant.

trying to stay positive...

Okay, I am back to worrying again. This sucks. I don't feel anything different today. I know I need to stay positive. I have another u/s on Tuesday but Tuesday seems soooooooooo farrrr away! Just wanted to vent. Anyone feeling the same way?

Sunday, November 18, 2007

I'm feeling good this Sunday morning...

I'm feeling good this Sunday morning. My breasts are getting huge and darker. No cramping to speak about. Mat and I are having a huge moral dilemma's about whether to tell out families and friends. But our reasons for keeping things hush is personal. We want this one to stick before we start sharing the news. And with our families of course first. I don't know if we will be able to wait until Christmas but hopefully we will get a good sign at the first OB appointment.

Otherwise I am just feeling giant and overweight. Sometime I think everyone is looking at me like, wow...she's gained some weight! Oh well. I need to get back into working out and that should make me feel much better.

First dr.'s visit and things look...

GOOD! I went the Dr. today for my first ultrasound and blood work. Everything looks good :::fingers crossed::: Based on my period start date, I should be 6 weeks ago but the ultrasound and the late BFP I got shows that I am a early 5 weeks. She wants me to start taking one baby aspirin a day and wrote me a percription for progesterone (which I will take twice a day).

Other than that she gave us a picture which gives us lots of hope!
Blood work today and the beginning of next week.
Another ultrasound next week after Thanksgiving.

It's soooooo hard not to get your hopes up. I want to tell everyone and no one all at the same time! That doesn't even make sense but you all know what I mean! If this one sticks, we will tell everyone at the end of the 1st tri, Christmas Day!

Thursday, November 15, 2007

Okay, things are becoming more promising! I know it's early but I feel like it's going to stick! Sticky dust! Sticky dust! Sticky dust! Mat and I tested again after work just so I could see a pretty pink line and we sure did! We are soooooooo excited!

This week has been good. I am pretty gassy and of course, nervous. I have only had a couple cramps in the evening here and there. Nothing alarming which is good. We go to the doctor tomorrow to probably do an ultrasound and some blood work. Mat will come with me so that will be fun.

We watched a program tonight called Conception to Birth and it's kinda freaky. We watched just up until all the birthing stuff and stopped. Why ruin the surprise, right? We will see what the Dr. says tomorrow. Good thoughts! Good thoughts! Good thoughts!

Sunday, November 11, 2007

Looking for some major sticky dust please!

November 10 = BFP!

Well on cycle day 40 we finally saw a faint pink line! Woohoo! It sucks not being able to be fully excited about a BFP but I am letting myself be a little happy. And the Mat is thinking he has some amazing aim so he is a happy boy!

This morning I ran a 5k with Amy and was thinking about it the whole time. Is my blood pressure too high? Should I be running? Will this affect the pregnancy at all? But at that point I didn't even know for sure if I was actually pregnant.

So I came home and Mat finally got home. We took a test immediately. It didn't take 10 mins to see the faint line. Good thing I had purchased so many Dollar Tree tests that morning!

Last night we had a big test of going to the Rohden's wedding and playing the fake drink game. People were questioning me left and right. Mat did a great job of getting me drinks that looked exactly like scotch on the rocks or vodka tonic. It was kinda fun although the bartenders thought we were strange!

If this works out, we will be finishing up the first tri around Christmas and plan on telling friends & family at that time. We didn't let anyone know about the first pregnancy and then miscarriage. We thought it was best to keep things on the downlow until the first tri. Fingers crossed this one sticks!!

I am still feeling hungry. No cramping. I am not peeing every 15 seconds like I was before. I am getting stressed about having to eat correctly now. But other than that, I am feeling pretty good!

Since the first miscarriage I haven't felt myself in weight and the way I look. I am working out but it doesn't seem to be effecting me at all. I will continue to do so and hopefully I won't gain a million pounds! I talked to my step instructor last week and he just wants me to take out a riser. But other than that, I can continue in the class. Good! Cause I love that class! So as the days get colder I am still going to try and workout once a day.

New dates of mention:

New dates of mention:
Period on start date was Oct 2, 2007
Ovualation on maybe Oct 15, 16, or 17
Period was supposed Oct 30
Test on Oct 31 = BFN
Test on Nov 4 = BFN
Test on Nov 6 = BFN
It's currently Nov 6 and still no period!
My boobs are so sore and I am super hungry. Pretty sleepy most of the time. Symptoms are much of the same as before but no cramping which is a good thing. I have no dates to base my cycle on cause I get pregnant the first go around. But it did take me 42 days after the first day of my period to get a BFP. If I can hold off and wait to test, 42 days will be next Tuesday.
