Cooking Time

A kitchen set and some food have been added to the playroom. Big shout out to Grandma and Grandpa T!! Millie had a great time playing this morning. A few injuries due to falling pots and pans. But she recovered quickly. And like any and all Davis ladies, she leaves all the cabinet doors open! To see all the pictures, click here.

2 things

I have to share two cute things that have happened in the past couple days.

One is that Millie's class gave her a book about the arrival of her new little brother. It's a cute flip book called "My Dog, My Cat, My Mama and Me". It was very sweet of the teachers.

The second thing is that on Millie's daily report today, she had a cute note written. This week's theme is Birds. So here goes...
She ate Green Beans, Apple Sauce and Turkey/Noodles.
Millie had a terrific Tuesday :-)
Today during bonding group we worked on our ABC's, we worked on puzzles & shapes and also we glued feathers on our birds.
Millie loved playing in housekeeping with her "BFF" Bailey. It was funny, today someone took something from Bailey. Millie got up and said "don't cry" to Bailey. Then went to the other child and said "not nice".

That's our girl! How adorable!

Music Class (April 24)

First haircut

Millie had her first professional haircut this weekend at Pigtails & Crewcuts. They had a little play area for kids which Millie enjoy. We were worried as we had heard that there might be a 2 hour wait time! But luckily the wait wasn't that long. She was actually pretty good although she didn't want to wear the zebra print robe. I think the cute ended up being really cute. It was more of a trim but you get the point. I didn't go with the whole "first haircut" package since I have already cut her hair myself before and saved some locks.

Another dinner out

Another dinner out with the Shahriari's! They had a great time playing outside of Vickerys. Meagan is not even 11 months yet and she is walking all over the place!

Veggie/Fruit Basket

So I started this great program at CNN. I had to get 10 people participate but that turned out to be alot easier than I thought! Each week (or every other week) we each get an individual fresh fruit and veggie basket delivered to CNN from Farmers Market Baskets! We never know what we are going to get until the day before. Yesterday was our first delivery and here is a picture of what I received in my basket.



I was participating in another CSA so I have some left overs from that. I have so many fruits and veggies in my house right now, I laid them all out on my table to get an assessment and figure out what meals I was going to make this week. And yes, two meals include Boy Choy!! Bok Choy stir fry and Chicken Fried Rice with boy choy in it (Thanks Margie!).

Gpa and Gma Tainow visit

A childhood friend of mine was getting married in Chicago and the Tainow's swooped in for some weekend babysitting duties! From the looks of it, they had a great time!

They went to the Oakhurst Children's Garden, Music Class, enjoyed a visit from Jon/Terry's friend Ivan/Judith, they went to the Atlanta Zoo, visited with the Navarro's and had an overall great weekend! It was great that they were able to come down and spend some time with Millie and it certainly helped us out a great deal!

Multicultural Day

Thursday was Multicultural Day at Millie's school. Millie's classroom is representing Haiti. The teachers made these cute shirts for all the kids. The classroom was filled with allllllll kinds of food representing Haiti. The kids went from room to room filling up on all kids of food from other countries. We heard Haiti was the best!

Reading Awareness

Wednesday was Reading Awareness day. The book that Millie's class represented was Joshua's Night Whispers. In honor of this book, the class all dressed in pajamas! I didn't get there in time to get everyone in their pj's but it was super cute to see! Millie is, of course, sitting by her "BFF" Bailey. They are best buds.

Boy Clothes

This Saturday we picked up two boxes of boy clothes from a friend of mine, Tracey. Barrett was a very good dresser because there are tons of cute clothes in these boxes! I have only had time to go through one box but I hung up all the NB and 0-3 month clothes. Our closest looks full already! 11 weeks and counting!

The Week of The Young Child

This week at school is "The Week of The Young Child".

Each day has a theme.
Monday is Safety Awareness Day. Each class was given a decorated t-shirt of a certain color and there was a parade at 10am. Millie's class wore white.

Tuesday is Health and Fitness Awareness. The kids were asking to dress for exercise. Here was Millie this morning in her "work out gear" warming up with some calf raises.

Wednesday is Reading Awareness day. The kids were asked to dress up as a character from a book. Not sure which book they are dressing up as...yet.

Thursday is Multicultural Day. Millie's classroom is representing Haiti.

And Friday is Family Fun Day & picnic with a special visit from McGruff the Crime Dog!

Sunday Zoo

Millie got this pony as a gift from Vince's cowboy birthday party. She does this...alot! We were trying to get outta the house and meet friends at the Zoo.

Music Class (April 10)

Pollen, Stain, Dance (3 videos)

The "normal" GA pollen count is usally in the 120-150 or so. It was around the 5000 mark the week that Dad was here. Not too good for staining or for allergies! This first video is the pollen falling like rain in the lights of Turner Field.

Donald Duck

My Dad has a great Donald Duck impression. It is loved by many! Wonder if Disney will hire him when we go there this summer?

Dad's Trip

My Dad came in this week to spend his Spring Break with us. I wanted him to relax and have a nice week in the warm sunny GA weather. However Dad had some other plans. He finished up the playroom, power washed our house, wash and stained our back deck, cleaned out and literally cleaned our gutters, stripped and restained our kitchen table, picked up and stained our 4 new kitchen chairs, fixed this, fixed that. I am sure I didn't even list exactly everything he did to our house and to generally help us out! It was amazing! We still managed to eat some good food and catch a Braves game. I promise we didn't make it work the entire time he was here!

Millie still doesn't get where everyone went! She asks daily "Where's Mama" and "Where's Papa" everyday. Click here to see the pictures from the week.

We went over to the Navarro's who had a great Easter egg hunt for the kids in the hood. Millie kinda got the hang of it but really was interested in opening the eggs and eating all the candy (wrapper and all).

We did a little photoshoot in Millie's Easter dress. We did this on Friday because we knew Sunday would be a bit hectic. She did great and I love the way the pictures turned out!
