I dropped Millie off at school a little early one morning and was able to hang out with the kids for awhile. The kids attacked my camera and wanted to see what I was doing. They were so cute!! Millie's little friend is Bailey but whenever I hold my camera up, she gets this straight look on her face! Usually she is alllll smiles! It's so funny! 19 months
Millie is really really advancing as a 19 month old. Her hair is starting to curl which I love! Here are 19 things about Millie's 19th month. Followed by pictures. 1. She is repeating everything you say which is fun (sometimes).
2. She repeats "up" and "down" but sometimes gets them mixed up which is funny.
3. She reads books to herself. We hear her doing that in the mornings.
4. She feeds herself with spoon and fork. And is still eating anything we put in front of her!
5. She brushes her teeth with little to no help
6. She washes her hands without help
7. She loves putting on her clothes. She has pants down pretty well and is just starting to get into putting her shirt on. But that's when she isn't using her shirt as pants!

8. She can name several part of her body (elbow, knee, thigh, toes, foot, leg, tongue, chin, cheeks, neck, shoulders, hair, and then the ear, nose, mouth, etc.
9. She can string words together to make phrases or puts together pairs of words
10. Very into finding out where everyone is. Usually her first question of the day is "Where's Siler?" followed by "Where's Daddy?" or "Where's Mommy"?
11. We think we have figured out one of her sayings. She is constantly yelling what sounds like "DEE-tah, DEE-tah". We are pretty sure she is saying "Clean up, Clean up". Which for the most part makes sense.
12. Still sitting in her big girl chair at the table and seems to enjoy that.
13. Still sleeping in her big girl bed and that seems to be going well. No crying at night or in the mornings. Mat installed video monitors so we can see what she is up to in the mornings. Usually she reads to herself in her bed or gets down and plays with her toys.
14. She is still a dancing machine. Really enjoys music and any reason to dance.
15. She plays well with others and has lots of friends at school. She loves to say "bye bye" to everyone. We are practicing saying "bye bye Bailey" or "bye bye Rita" And if you ask her how her day went, she says "gooooood".
16. They are starting to change her diaper in the bathroom now at school in preparation for potty training. I can't wait to get this started!
17. She loves running and being chased. Her deep belly laugh is really infections!
18. She enjoys putting on lotion after bathtime.
19. Sometimes it's quite a lengthy process to pick her up from daycare. She hates to put on her coat but even more, she doesn't want to leave school!! She really enjoys it there!! It's certainly a good feeling!

Our Valentine
We got Millie her own Valentines Day gift, a Rainbow Brite doll. She really loves it and drags it around everywhere. It was also the first time I have been able to put her hair up in a ponytail!! Click here to see the rest of the pictures.

Valentines Day playdate (4 videos)
Lila's best friend, Rebecca, has moved to Atlanta. Issac is their little boy and he is just a week younger that Millie. They live close to us so I think we will have plenty of playdates in the future! We went over on Valentines day for formal introductions. After a few fights over toys, they became fast friends. Can't wait to get to know the Kutlers better!

Millie enjoyed the snow...for awhile. After her hands turned to ice, she didn't think it was so much fun. Click here to see the rest of the pictures.

Artwork

Click here to see some of Millie's artwork. She has great talent and takes after several in her family. Mom got me this great frame that opens and you can put new artwork in there. It hangs in our bathroom which seems to be the "Davis" way. If you have been to our house in Lancaster, you would know that our downstairs bathroom was where all of our artwork was always displayed.
Cookie in the car (2 videos)
This was coming home from school on Feb 8. Don't worry, I wasn't driving and taking this video in the car. I have a no phone zone in my car...meaning no texting and no videos!

Leapin Lizards
On Saturday it was very chilly outside so we headed to Leapin Lizards for a playdate with Vince. We had a good ole time although Millie flat out laid down (twice) in the middle of the room to go "night night". I know she isn't feeling 100% but a good time was had by all. Millie isn't as confident as Vince on her feet in the bounce houses. We couldn't figure out if it was a boy/girl thing or maybe Millie is more unsure of her feeting. Vince however is fearless and loves running with the big kids. I think the daddy and toddlers were wore out by the days end.
milk
Just like my Dad, I need to have my milk close by during dinner. So, also like my dad, I have been putting my milk jug right by my side (on the floor) while I eat. Millie really loves to bring me the milk jug if I forget to put it back in the fridge. She also tries to lift the 2 gallon jug out of the shopping cart when we go shopping. Strong like donkey!

My beautiful niece, Courtney, has pneumonia. She went into the hospital last night (Thursday night) and will be there for most of today...maybe longer. Keep her in your thoughts!Good News! Courtney has been released from the hospital and is at home resting. So is her mama. Long night for both. Feel better Court!

18 months
We went for our 18 month appointment Monday and she checked out well.
Weight: 22 pounds (18%)
Height: 32inches (70%)
Head: 19 inches (96%)
We were informed that Millie might end up being taller than both of us! Millie is doing great in her big girl bed. She has been a bit sick these last couple days. Coughing and runny nose. I was unsure weather to leave her at home today but I think she will be alright. I told the teacher to call us if she seems to be getting worse.
Here are some details about 18-24 which Millie is hitting each of these with ease!!
Intellectually
• Refer to self by name and use the words “me” and “mine.”
• Copy single words spoken by someone else and use the words “please” and “thank you” if prompted.
• Choose between two objects.
• Enjoy humming or trying to sing familiar songs.
• Use two to three word sentences.
Physically
• Walk well and run, even though he may not always stop and turn well.
• Toss or roll balls.
• Enjoy moving on small-wheeled riding toys.
• Feed himself with a spoon.
• Begin to gain some control of bowels and bladder.
Socially and Emotionally
• Imitate actions.
• Get angry and even may have temper tantrums.
• Act shy around strangers.
• Have trouble sharing.
• Show signs of independence, like saying “no” and trying to do many things independently.
