Happy Birthday Meagan!

Happy Birthday to Miss Meagan Lillie Shahriari!!! Meagan was born Wednesday, May 27th, 2009 at 3:36pm. She is 7lbs, 3 oz and 20 inches long. She is very happy and healthy and Momma Katie is doing great! Katie had a relatively easy birth and all the Shahriari's should go home on Friday! Boooooooo!!

Double ear infection again!!! Boooooooo!! We are back on antibiotics for the next 10 days. Hopefully she will feel better by tomorrow!

Chloe and Kari had such a great time with Millie. Chloe was a great helper. A couple of the days, Chloe even got Millie out of her crib without us knowing! She is a very strong little girl! I think Millie had a great weekend with her auntie and cousin. Millie would just watch Chloe in awe. Can't wait to see them this summer for vacation! Thank you ladies for making the trip down to see us!!

Sunday with the Kerns

So we attempted to dodge the rain drops all weekend long. We had a chance to go outside for a bit on Sunday so we hit the park. But then the rain came back and headed indoors to do one of Chloe's favorite activities...bowling! She did great. She even beat my score one game! Saturday with the Kerns

On Saturday, we all headed to Leapin Lizards. I had heard my friend Jackie talk about this place and thought it might be a great way to spend a rainy afternoon. Chloe had a ball!! She would run from inflatable bouncy thing to inflatable bouncy thing. Her cheeks were bright red from all the bouncing going on! Millie even had a good time too. Watch out cause when Millie is older, she will be all about this bounce house! Here are my favorites but click here for pictures from Saturday.

New seat

With the help from my sister, we were finally able to move Millie into her convertible car seat! She seems to really like to so far. We used to have this mirror that hung on the seat back so we could see Millie's face. However, the high back of the convertible car seat, the mirror is blocked so we can't see a thing. It's kind of a bummer but it's only for a couple more months. Once Millie is 1, we can flip her around and face forward.

Friday with the Kerns

What a weekend! On Thursday night Kari and Chloe flew into Atlanta! It was Chloe's first plane right and she seemed to really enjoy it. I was at work when they got here but the we had all weekend to hang out. Friday morning I got home and slept for just a couple hours, then woke myself up to hang out with the family! We had a great Friday afternoon. We went to the aquarium to see all of Chloe's friends. Millie had a great time looking at all the fish. But she especially enjoyed banging on the glass. JM Squared & Slumber Party

Last Saturday night, Mat and I had the rare opportunity to share a night with just the two of us...and everyone else at the Murgatroyd/Martin wedding! John is a dear friend to Mat and myself. John and Mat were VJ's at CNN together. John and I went to the same college and have a very special friendship. We were so happy that he met and now married Julie. She is a fabulous girl and we couldn't be happier for the both of them. They had a beautiful wedding at the Chastain Horse Park here in Atlanta.

We are lucky to have some fabulous friends here in Atlanta. The Damico's are some of the best! Jackie was brave enough to take on two little ones all.night.long! It was not Millie's first sleep over but it was her first with her buddy Vince! Vince and Millie seemed to always have a great time together and this was no different! Jackie took lots of pictures and it proves that Vince and Millie are going to be good friends for a long time.

Goodbye Canterbury

I am having mixed emotions today. We are starting a new daycare on Monday and today we had to say goodbye to those who have been taking care of our beautiful daughter since she was just 10 weeks old. Mrs. Shirley made this delightful poster to say goodbye to Millie. It has a picture of each of her classmates.

I think Millie will miss her friend Ellie the most. Mrs. Shirley is going to put a picture of Millie in Ellie's crib so they can remember each other. Ellie's mom, Kathryn, and I have become good friends. Hopefully we can get together for some play dates so the girls can remain friends for a long time. Sometimes the girls will be off in a corner playing for like 20 mins. Sometimes they will go from crib to crib and wake everyone up (one-by-one). They seem to do everything together while they are at school. We will miss Ellie, Conrad, Lucas, Carolyn, Larkin and Sasha. Millie will especially miss stealing every one's pacifiers which is her favorite past time at school.

It was so sweet of Mrs. Shirley and it just shows you how much Mrs. Shirley and Priya care for Millie. We will miss them both dearly!

These picture was taken on Wednesday. The middle picture is showing something new that Millie is doing. She scrunches up her face and breaths really heavy through her nose! It's hilarious! The last picture is of her new favorite past time. Boy she gets that finger waaaaaaaaaay up there!

Here was Millie on Sunday having some bubble fun. We couldn't go outside because it was raining so we moved the party inside! I got a bubble machine and boy does it blow some crazy bubbles!! Millie seems to like it...not as much as I thought she was going to like it but she likes it all the same. Here are more pictures from Sunday.

What do you think, do the jammies fit the mommie? I have to thank Terry for thinking so! I had a great mother's day with my two favorite M's. Went to church, hung out with Mat while Millie napped, went shopping for a dress and picked up a apple laptop! We have been meaning to get one since the break-in and finally did. After shopping, we went for sushi and ice cream. A good day was had by all! Thank you everyone for all of the Mother's Day wishes! I am very lucky to finally join this elite group of fabulous women!

She uses something similar to this at daycare and she seems to really love it! So yesterday I went to Target and got her a shopping cart so she could practice up! She is an excellent shopper and enjoys eating the fake peas! Enjoy!

We moved from a sickness to a bad diaper rash. It's nasty so we left her diaper off this evening to air it out. Enjoy some pictures!

9 months old

Can you believe this little gem is 9 months old already? She is quite a mover and a shaker and this past month has been so fun! I'll let her tell ya.

1. I love to dance! It's really a bobbing of the knees but I am working on other dance moves to impress my audience.

2. At daycare, I have mastered the skill of walking with the assistance of a push cart. Thank goodness Mommie bought one for home so I can practice at home now too.

3. I am all about eating these days. I like eating some real people food like egg yolks, bananas, avocado, pasta, turkey meatballs, tofu and carrots.


4. I got sick for the first time this month. It stunk. But I am nearly over it and I am so happy about that! Although that pink medicine did taste tasty!

5. I am very into picking my nose. Actually just sticking my finger up in there and just hanging out.

6. I am a very speedy crawler. If mommie and daddie aren't watching me, I will make my way up the stairs!

7. I love playing in and knocking over the doggies water bowl! It makes a big mess but it's kinda fun!

8. I have stood up on my own a couple times for just a couple seconds...but I don't like it...yet!

9. I can't wait to see my Auntie Kari and cousin Chloe coming up in just a couple weeks! Hopefully I will get to meet Baby S soon. She is going to come out of Auntie Katie and we can finally play! Maybe not the same day she come out but hopefully soon after! Jeevan is an excellent playmate but I need a girlfriend!

What's that bobcat doing?

What is that bobcat doing? And yes, that is in fact cheese stuck in her hair and leg. Hey, we were getting in the bath so she was on her way to getting cleaned up!












































This is the last day for this outfit as it is too snug! At least her cousin Sabrina got to see her in it! Sabrina and DJ met us for lunch as they were in town visiting DJ's family. Great to see them!

Abbie and Rory

This is a picture of Millie's friend Rory that I took at our last GTG. I am writing you about some sad news tonight. One of the families in our Mommie group has suffered a great loss. Abbie's husband & Rory's daddy, Colin, took his life on Thursday.

I met Abbie and Rory at the very first Mommie & Me meeting the first time we both went. As working mommies, Abbie and I had alot in common. We went to Colin/Abbie/Rory's house for a little couponing meeting. Colin, Abbie and Rory came to Engine 11 for our Mommie GTG. Mat and Colin were hoping to work together so Colin could play some music for E11 on weekends. He was a very talent musician and he will be missed.

Our little moms group has set up a list of weeks that we are going to look after Abbie and Rory. There are 19 of us so that will get her through September. We are going to make them dinner and have playdates to keep Rory the happy little girl we know her to be. We are all also gathering our money and purchasing a savings bond for Rory.

I can't imagine what Abbie is going through right now. It's has been haunting me since I found out this morning. I will be attending the memorial service on Wednesday. Please keep Abbie and Rory in your thoughts.

Teeth

I know some of these are fuzzy but I was trying to show you her teeth. They were too cute not to post them! These prove that Millie's mouth is just like mine in more ways than one! She has another tooth coming and so she is drooling and a little fussy.

But that could be cause she is still sick. Hopefully we have almost kicked this nasty thing. Now it has transferred over to Mat who is really really sick so turn your thoughts to Mat now! I am just trying to stay away but on the overnight shift, it's not so hard!























We opened up a new toy for Millie, the Playskool Busy Ball Popper. It's actually a Christmas toy from my parents that we kept in the closet until she was old enough. She loved it! Siler also loved that the balls fit RIGHT in her month! Hopefully we will keep the balls in the popper! I will try and get some video of her playing with it. It's really funny!

Earth Day

We celebrated Earth Day with a bang! Millie's school did a little Earth Day festival. Each parent was supposed to come up with an idea for their booth. Mat and I brain stormed and came up with an idea for planting sunflower seeds. So I collected around 35 of Millie's baby food jars and saved them for weeks. I went to Home Depot and got some organic planting soil and organic sunflower seeds. Mat and I set up our little "booth" in the schools yard. All the little kids came over and we helped them fill thier jar with soil. Put the seeds in. And more dirt. And then closed it with the lid. As you can see here, they are growing pretty well! Hopefully all of Millie's classmates are having success as well.

Of course we had to find an outfit for Earth Day and thank goodness she can still squeeze into this onesie from Nancy. It had the perfect Earth Day message! Click here to enjoy the pictures of Millie hanging around with us on the couch. And of Millie's little garden.
