Potty/Swing/Dinner (more videos)

There was lots of potty time. I have to say that Courtney had a GREAT influence on Millie. She wanted to go and do whatever Courtney was doing. Including potty-ing by herself and kicking me out!

Lots of swing time in my parents backyard. Which has become a great workout for both my mom and dad now that the kids are getting bigger and heavier!

And some dinner time before Chloe's soccer game.

Mommie's old clothes

I have been waiting to post this and it's the perfect time.

When Mom/Dad came down for Milo's birth, they brought some of my old dresses. Most, if not all, were made by my mom. Here are the pictures taken over the summer. I will try and find/scan the pictures of me in these same dresses. Mom and Dad clicked these pictures while we were in Athens.

Click here to see those pictures.

Now when we were home in Ohio, Mom/Dad found even more clothes. Check out my "Class of 1996" shirt. My old saddle shoes. My old white shoes. My Kenzi dress.

Soccer

Chloe had a couple soccer games while we were in town. Millie and Courtney cheered from the sidelines. Sometimes on the field. They had a great time cheering for her and she did great. Even scored a goal and had a fabulous header! Monday's game was miserable. Rainy and cold. The girls made the best of it and even tried to join in on the team meeting directly following the game (see picture).

Props again to Papa D who took both girls...in the rain...to the only potty on the premises...a port-o-potty.

After dinner I snapped some pictures of the kids with my parents. Click here to see the pictures.

Hanging with Great Grandma Norris

We travel to Zanesville to visit with Great Grandma Norris. The girls had a great time drawing on the driveway and riding bikes. Both are things my cousins, sister and I used to do allll the time. I am pretty sure the girls were using the same tricycle that we all used (right Kari?). Anyway, it was the perfect fall weather. It was great to see Grandma and she her fix of baby holding in. She loooooove holding babies!

We are traveling in 2 cars these days. We used to all be able to fit in Kari's van. Kari & Dad up front.
Courtney and Millie in the middle.
Mom, Me and Chloe in the back.

These days, we aren't so environmentally friendly. We had to take 2 cars everywhere we went AND we all could not ride to/from the airport! Major bummer!

The fights for Papa D's car continue. I wanna go in Papa D's car! I want to go in Papa D's car! Why is it so appealing? Why does Millie point out a silver Honda CRV whenever she sees one anywhere and scream "PAPA's CAR!!!" I will never know. Probably the wheels (wink wink).

Church

I snapped these pictures just before church on Sunday. How cute are my kids?!?!!? I couldn't wait to show Mat these pictures of Milo in his little adorable sweater vest. Anyway, Millie went off to the nursery pretty early along with her buddy Courtney. Millie didn't quite "get" the silence of church. Especially when she is yelling "potty Mama D!!!" in the middle of a prayer.

After they went to the nursery, Milo pretty much smiled, cooed and made googly eyes at mom for the entire hour. Making the back half of the church severely jealous. I could ever hear some giggles from some of the older church ladies.

Hanging with Great Grandma Beckett

We love having Great Grandma Beckett in Lancaster. It means she can spend more time with the grandkids. She can spend more time with her great grandkids. And WE are lucky enough to spend some time with her! She came over for an afternoon of fun & lunch on Sunday.

Click here to see my pictures. These are mine and my mom's together so there are several duplicates. I am sure you don't mind!

Cannerly Shower

On Saturday, a family friend held a couple's wedding shower for Kelly and Alex. We had a great time catching up with friends and seeing the bride/groom all geeked up for the wedding!

Some of you may know Kelly but she is one of my very dear friends. Kelly and I went to high school together and have remained such great friends. She and Alex have been dating for just a couple months before Mat and I have...for 9 years!

Microphone (lots of videos)

There was lots of dress up and singing!

Burger King (videos & pictures)

Did you ever think that I would have a post called that? Turns out Burger King is a hot spot in Lancaster! The kids loooooooooooove the play area and Kari & I love hanging out and gossiping about the people of Lancaster. Enjoy the videos and pictures. The girl you might not recognize is Emily. Kari has been watching Emily, at her daycare, since she was a baby. Emily calls me Aunt Kenzi. Calls Dad: Papa D. Calls Mom: Mama D. She is a nice little girl with LOTS to say! Millie, Courtney and Emily were besties all week!

You can see in the second video Court helping Millie up the jungle gym. Courtney took on this task with ease. She used to get boosted up by Chloe and her friends. This is just Courtney returning the favor. At one point, Millie wanted to help Courtney up. So Courtney obliged. Then Millie realized that she couldn't get up by herself. So Courtney quickly came back down and gave Millie a boost. This was all done with no words. Just kids playing with kids. To us, it was hilarious.

Hanging with the cousins (lots of videos)

While we were in Ohio, we spent most days at the Kern's abode. So lots of pictures and lots of videos. Enjoy! Click here to see the pictures.

Flying to Ohio

I can't say that I would do it again but it wasn't so bad! I brought lots of snack and entertainment to keep Millie entertained. Milk was really the only thing Milo needed. Mat was able to walk me to the gate and one of the Delta workers helped me down and collapsed my stroller for me. Millie walked herself down the aisle and into her seat. The gentleman sitting next to me was very sweet and said he had kids about the same age. He eventually moved to give me all three seats which was very sweet. So M & M were great until push back. Millie had had enough of sitting in her seat. She was on the floor and I couldn't coax her back into her seat. However the lady sitting across the aisle had just the right tool. An elmo phone. She played with that while buckled into her seat. When she got done with that, we had snacked. Watch a little Mickey Mouse on the iTouch. Had more snacks. Had a drink. She was really the perfect flyer. Folks even said so when we were exiting the plane!

Milo was hardly a problem. I nursed him as we were going up. He fell asleep and I just laid him on the empty seat as he snoozed for most of the flight. When he woke, he sat there just looking around for the remainder of the flight.

Mom and Dad were there to meet me as we got off the plane. All and all it was a great flight!

Hopscotch (1 video)

Mat and Millie were playing outside and I came out because there was something they wanted to show me.
Yes, Millie insisted in wearing this outfit.

random

Just a couple of random videos of Milo & Millie. I am trying to caught up, can you tell?

Daddy and Milo in the evening...

In this video...yes she is pant-less (SORRY!) but what in the world is she saying? She has been saying this word for awhile. Usually "Mommy may-chur" or "Daddy may-chur". We have asked Tawanna (her teacher) what she is saying and even Tawanna doesn't know! Any guesses?

squirrely business (2 videos)

While at home on maternity leave, I met some new friends.

A gift from Aunt Jelly & Uncle Andy

Pictures from Mike

These are a couple pictures that my friend Mike snapped while in town. Again just proving that my kids are freakin cute!

Traveling home from G-ville

We tend not to sit in the back between the kids but on a long road trip like this, sometimes it's necessary. Pacifiers won't stay in. Millie dropped her book for the 100th time. We managed not to use the DVD player the entire ride home. Not that I am opposed, but it's nice just to talk, listen to music and play games with the kids. But when it comes to nap time, here is how Millie sleeps. Her hand always tucked behind her just so.
And Siler.
And Milo who was awake for the time being.
Just one stop on the way home! Woohoo! Hurray for good traveling kids!

Game Day

We met a great babysitter who came to watch the kids all day. Karla was there watching Jeevan and Arjan. Then Jennifer was watching Millie and Milo. Everyone had a great time and so did the parents! We went early for the pre-game meal which was delicious. The Gators didn't play as well as Mat wanted them to but they won! It was fun seeing a game from the Bull Gator section. The air conditioning and ice cream at halftime isn't a bad way to watch a game! Here are the kids in their Gator gear.
And then the boys at the game, nerd-sets in hand!

Friday

On Friday the Navarro's arrived. They had spent a week in Disney. It was good to see them. Here is Jeevan (currently 10 pounds heavier than Millie) putting the moves on our little one!!

Friday night we headed out to Mat's friend Rob's house. He and his wife are expecting their second child around Christmas. Their 3 year old daughter Olivia and Millie had a great time playing together.

Lake Alice

Some sweet pictures of our trip to Lake Alice on the UF campus. It.was.hot. Humid actually. We saw just a baby gator and lots of turtles who thought we were bringing dinner.

In the last pictures, we were waiting for the bats to come out and play. This bat house was constructed on the University of Florida campus in Gainesville in 1991 and now houses over 100,000 bats. Each night the free-tailed bats in this one colony eat about 10-20 million insects, assuming that each bat consumes 500-1000 of the small insects this species prefers.

The bats are living in these structures created specifically for them by the University of Florida and the University Athletic Association and now provide free pest control for the university and Gainesville. This is the largest occupied "bat house" in North America and perhaps the world.
