Can I vent for a second? Yesterday was a bad day. I always thought maybe, just maybe, I will be that cute mommy-to-be that does gain any weight but in my belly. My sister looked like that so maybe I will?

Um, no. I am ballooning everywhere but my belly. I just look huge. Yesterday I seriously teared up when seeing my reflection in the Target sliding doors. Finding clothing is a mess. I have an event coming up this weekend and need a cute summer dress. Why doesn't anyone have maternity clothes in their stores? I need to try on things to make sure they fit!!! Walmart? Old Navy? Gap? Nordstroms? Ann Taylor Loft? Come on! I can't buy everything online only to return it cause it doesn't fit right.

People always say, "oh, it's a great time to be pregnant! All the empire waisted clothes and dresses, etc. You will be very in-style!" Um, no. If it's not maternity then it's usually not long enough so I am constantly pulling my shirt down. If it's not maternity then chance are, it won't go over my expanding hips.

Thank you Target for providing three dresses (2 in clearance) to all the pregnant moms out there. Have you ever thought that maybe that's not enough? And thank you for mixing all of your 10 racks of clearance items all together so you have to look at the tag to find out if it's maternity or not.

My only saving grace has been Kohls and Motherhood . I went on a shopping spree at Kohls and bought almost everything they had (although they had no dresses). Great prices, great fit. Too bad the closest Kohls to me is pretty far from me. But at this point, it's worth the drive. I am waiting patiently until they get new clothes in so I can gobble up more items.

I also found several cute items at Motherhood over the weekend (dresses and shirts). But what's up with Motherhood's return policy?!?!?! No returns (even with the receipt). Only merchandise credit. Seriously? I had no idea (although they made me initial something that says they explained it to me). Pregnancy brain I guess. I was so disappointed. Plus the sales lady was rude which didn't help. She so "kindly" read the entire return policy to me like I was a two year old. She also "kindly" called a couple stores for me to see if they had a particular dress in my size. She insisted that the Motherhood store that I went to a couple weeks ago didn't exist because she didn't have a phone number for them. Then miraculously found it and gave it to me cause she "couldn't get through". Thanks lady!

Alright, alright. I'm done. Thanks for letting me vent. Mat tried to make me feel better last night but I was so upset. For now I have a Motherhood dress that is one size too big but I am going to wear it anyway. No other store in Atlanta has it in my size. And Kohls will keep me work-clothed for the time being. Sigh....

Silver lining, Silver lining, Silver lining!! Gotta keep remembering the silver lining.
After my rant, let me list some good things.
I am EXTREMELY happy that this baby is growing inside me and hopefully she is happy and healthy in there!
It is kinda nice when people, who know that I am pregnant, are like "could you look like you are pregnant already" & "you don't even look that pregnant" & "there is no way you are in your third trimester".
I am happy about the amount weight that I will have to drop on the backside.
I am happy about lack or stretch marks hopefully.
Mat still thinks I am pretty.

28 Weeks!! Woohoo!!
So we can check the first pre-baby class off the list. Mat and I went to Breastfeeding for Couples this weekend and thought it was very informative. I know many who didn't make it breastfeeding so I was looking for some tips and any helpful information to make breastfeeding successful for me. I took lots of notes but having Mat there with me is going to help so much because when the time comes, I am going to probably forget everything I have learned! The pain factor does scare me but the lactation consultant explained that if you are doing it "properly" then it shouldn't hurt. The LC made it seem so easy and I am trying to remind myself that it's going to hurt and won't be easy. But I am really excited and I think I have a better knowledge now that I have taken the class.

The only thing I wish she would have gone over is what happens if you do have problems. What if you do have a plugged duct, infection, so on, etc. But I can usually ask friends or find a solution on google.

Classes still to take...
Daddy BootCamp
Childbirth Prep Class
Infant CPR
Hospital Maternity Tour

Sorry for the delay in updating my status. I did have a good workout last night which was nice. One of my friends said that it might have been a dehydration thing. Which it totally could have been! Although I am drinking alot of water, my body is used to all the water. I have always drank ALOT of water. So now my body just may need even more! I don't workout on Friday's and I am just going to make sure I am hydrated before Saturday's workout. Don't worry, I will call the doctor if it happens again!

Boo for pain! I was working out last night (cardio-step/weights class) and I started out doing really well. About 20-30 mins into my class, I was having some lower abdominal pain (below the belly button). Not really cramping but just pain. Consistent. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give it a 6 or 7. I slowed down and drank lots of water. Nothing seemed to help. So I stepped out of the class, stretched out and left for home. On the car ride home, I was really trying to relax my belly/lower abdominals. By the time I got home (10 mins or so) the pain had greatly subsided (pain level 2-3). Then I laid on the couch and felt better so much better in 30 mins.

I have not idea what was going on. I don't want to stop working out but that was really scary. I read in my pregnancy book that I didn't need to call the doctor unless it was severe pain and I was not in severe pain. I am going to my step class tonight and hopefully the pain will not come back.

T-minus 97 days! I can't believe we are under 100 days left! Woohoo!
This weekend I wasn't feeling that great but I have chalked it up to things moving and expanding. It's gone today for the most part. I AM feeling some sort of movement for the past couple days. I have to say it's one of the strangest things by far. Just when I think "was that movement", it's gone. I can't wait for it to come back and stay! I am pretty sure I will never say "I wish Baby T would stop kicking me in the ribs!" I can't wait!

Other than that, things are going well. We don't have another appointment until the end of this month. It will be my Glucose test. A glucose screening test is typically between 24 and 28 weeks of pregnancy to check for gestational diabetes, a high blood sugar condition that some women get during pregnancy. Apparently I have to drink something nasty and have them test my pee? I am NOT to carbo load that morning. Apparently that screws things up. Anyway, hopefully I will pass and all will be well. My blood pressure has been stable and superb the entire time so I am certain things will go well.

I'll post pictures of the nursery that is about half done very soon. I still need some bedding on the daybed.
Hope you are all doing well!

Here are the ultrasound pictures from Tuesday.

Our appointment yesterday was quick, easy and painless. I asked Dr. Sun questions about my annoying cold, the lack of Baby T's movement and anything else on my "list". Everything was fine and she gave me great advice. No measurement of my belly today since I just got the ultrasound yesterday and apparently that is much more actuate than any measurement that Dr. Sun could take.

We went to the doctor yesterday and everyone seemed very pleased with what they saw. The ultrasound tech explained everything she was viewing and measuring. She said the baby is about 1 pound 10 ounces at this point. The babies head is up near my belly button. The spine goes along the left side of my body. And it's legs are wedged down and together. She hadn't moved from this difficult position since last time so that's why we had to get another ultrasound in the first place. Since she is in this position it makes it hard to see the back side of her heart. But the tech and Dr. Trevett were certain that they could see what they needed to see and didn't need me to come back in. Her hands were up by her face and you could see her sucking or swallowing which was really cool. Other than that, not much flipping despite the bit of chocolate I ate before the appointment! Oh well. We go back to our regular OB today.

Guessing game...
Only the first ultrasound tech at our 20 week appointment was the only one who was able to confirm that we are having a baby girl. Dr. Gomez, the next ultrasound tech and Dr. Trevett all were not able to tell because her legs were so tight together. Mat hopes that they will stay that way (wink wink).

In other news...
We put together the daybed from Ikea. It's going to look great. As soon as I get some bedding, I will take some pictures. We did it in only an hour and a half. Amazing how speedy you can get things done when you have video games to play (Mat). Anyway, it looks great and the dresser that we got from Ikea is going work perfectly as well. We are probably going to use that as a changing table since our space in the room is limited. I'll be posting pictures of the nursery and ultrasound pics soon!

Big ultrasound today!
Please keep us in your thoughts!

Okay, I just realized that my dates are a bit off. I am really only 24 weeks and 5 days. Boo! Guess my new change date will be Sundays. I changed my crazy floating baby over the right as well. 107 days left!

25 weeks...woohoo!

My scheduled ultrasound for tomorrow had to be re-scheduled. So now I have a doctors appointment on Tuesday and Wednesday next week.

25 weeks!

I just got back today and it's nice to be home. Tough to leave Ohio of course but it always is. The funeral was really nice. Sad, but nice. Grandpa would have liked it for sure. Sunday would have been Grandma and Grandpa's 61st anniversary so that will be tough for her. Mat and I were thinking over the weekend, it's doubtful that Mat and I will reach 61 years of marriage (because of our ages) so it's definitely a lucky thing. It's much easier to hit 61 years of marriage when you got married when you were 16 like my grandma!!

Baby news: I was really sick on Monday but I think it was just a 24-48 hour bug thing so hopefully I will feel better soon. I called my doctor and everything cause I wasn't sure what meds I could take. So they were really helpful and I was able to take some things to calm my belly. I am starting to feel some sort of movement about every 2nd or 3nd day. Not much. I can't wait to start feeling something all the time. I am sure it will bring much relief. We go back for another ultrasound on Friday which I am totally looking forward to!
