MLK Day

She was so excited to have made this peace dove. I am excited to see that she is doing such creative projects like these. She is really excelling at her school and we couldn't be happier that she is there! These doves were made in honor of MLK. They were attached to the fan in her room and they spun around when the fan was flipped on. Very cute!

Kingfisher Part 1

Many of you might already know but we moved Millie into a new school. So far it is really going well. Millie was acting out a little during week 2 (had an accident during nap, hit a kid in her class...on purpose) but really shaped up week 3. I am assuming she was just finding her boundaries. Millie's class is small which I really like. They go to story time at East Atlanta library cause they can. I mean, the classes are tiny. Millie loooooooooove riding that bus. I haven't met all the parents yet but I am looking forward to that. So far we are really pleased. And when I tell people that she goes there (even some random mom in the Walmart line) they all say "oh I have heard really good things about that school!). So that makes me feel good!

I ask Millie what her favorite part of the day is every night before she goes to bed...and 9 out of 10 times, it is "going to school". So that makes me feel good about our decision to move her.

We get these sheets from her teacher, Mrs. Middleton, each week. We love reading these with Millie. Waay better than Millie's one word answers about her day. This picture might be a bit small so click here to see this document closer. As always, let me know if you have any problems!

To see some of her work since she started, click here. It is 8 pages, let me know if you have any problems opening this document up (on a computer and not your mobile device please).

Week 1: Dance

A's mom contacted me when she saw a special for a ballet/tap class. We thought it might be fun to keep the girls in the same dance class so they would know someone. Well, as expected, the girls love it! It's a toss up as whether they are more excited for the dance class, or to see one another.

It takes a special woman to teach 3 year olds how to dance. Her name is Miss Lindsay. She is kind, upbeat, and so nice to the girls. You can't see the kids in these videos beacuse of the way the room is set up. But A's mom Meggan and like to spy on the kids.

Waiting for the doctor (video)

IMG_2130Waiting for the doctor in the doctor's office waiting room. We were at GA Allergy just checking to see how his Milk allergy is coming along. While he is a bit "less allergic" than 6 months ago, he is still allergic. We will go back in another 6 months to check again.

In the meantime, Milo's language has come leaps and bounds in the past couple of weeks. This is just a small snippet from a couple weeks ago. He is repeating everything now and is starting to put two words together. It’s so fun hearing his little voice and it actually making sense!

New tap shoes (videos)

Someone starts Tap class on Saturday and is VERY excited. We ordered these shoes in the mail and she was asking the next day if we had received them in the mail. When we did, she was elated! And this is what she did.

Millie Behave...Santa's watching

Some Christmas Eve pictures

Yes, it was freezing outside but it didn't matter. These ladies were troopers. Some beautiful momma raised them right.

Sometimes when you are sicker than a dog, puking, had the hives, and slept till 4pm...sometimes you buck up for a long awaited girls night starring these ladies. They are seriously some of the deepest friendships I share and boy do I treasure them with all my heart. And PS: that lens that I spent a fourtue on? Worth every penny! Thanks mom for taking these!

Iphone christmas pics 2

The girls had a date night at the Nutcracker. Millie had been looking forward to this for weeks! We went to the original Max & Erma's for dinner and warm cookies (and a drinky drink for the adults just in case things didn't go as planned!). The girls watched in wonder and of course Millie had several...several questions.

We broke some laws when Papa D stole the car with car seats :-)

We had movie night...Millie couldn't be bothered with a picture, she had too much art to do!

Infamous Kern cookies. Tainows even got their own TIN!

Christmas Eve dinner with Gary and Helen

Christmas Morning

Pretty sunset Christmas night

Someone didn't take a Christmas Day afternoon nap...but quickly passed out on the car ride to Great Grandma Norris'

A little lovin' on Rocky

Someone was covered head to two in gross hives

Dinner the night before we left

On the trip home, 3 seats for the 3 of us made one happy parent! They were both angels and received an A+ for the trip!

And finally...ready to see Daddy!

More to come very soon!

Iphone christmas pics 1

OKAY! Here we go! I am back from vacation and ready to show you all what the Tainows have been up to! So here it is...right from my iphone!

Our week started off watching the coolest kid in town play some basketball.

What was also cool was that the game was in my old Jr. High school. Pretty surreal having my own kids roaming the halls of a place I hold so dear. Go Senators!

That afternoon, we headed up north to see my besties, Kelly and Karla. Milo and Quinn became fast friends again and Millie just bossed them around. It worked out for everyone. It was great to spend time with Karla and Kelly. Both friends are expecting a baby in 2012! Our little group is growing and we couldn't be happier!!!

Watching the Ohio U football game at Red Robin. Go bobcats!

After we watched Papa's basketball game, we headed home for a bedtime story and sleepover at Mama's house.

Next morning was pancakes with Papa. What color? Red and Green of course!

Someone couldn't make it through church but he sure tried! Papa was the perfect pillow. My dad is just praying...I swear. Maybe :-)

All the toys in the world couldn't hold a flame to the nativity set that my mom has had since I was a kid. The kids played with it daily and Loooooved it.

Millie walked right now, held hands with the man and posed. Couldn't ask for more!
