Day in NYC

Some more pictures from our day in NYC.
We ate a slice from
We went to the High Line park.
Dumpling lunch with Manashi
Picked up our tickets for the Letterman Show
Stopped in a couple more stores and then back to the Letterman Show for seating. We saw Zac Efron, Carrie Fisher and Rhianna.
After that we hit Crumbs for a cupcake.
Then up to Dan-O-Lines for dinner near them at Alias.
I told you we ate our way through New York City!

After we got back to Atlanta, that evening we had dinner with 15 of my close friends at No Mas. It was great to see everyone and even Millie had a date with Vince. It was a great 32nd birthday!

Happy Thanksgiving

We had another great Thanksgiving weekend in NJ. I managed not to gain a pound but loose one while I was on holiday. Terry and Fran agreed to watch Millie on Tuesday while Mat and I spent the day/night in NYC. We had lunch with my great friend Manashi. And then dinner with Dan-o-line. Mat and I pretty much ate our way through the city which was fabulous!

Terry and Jon had a grand celebration on Wednesday night. The food was excellent and the company even better. Thursday was the grand Turkey day. Fran provided a fabulous spread at her house. 25 people (I think) celebrating this fabulous holiday. It was great to see everyone and Millie had a grand time "exploring" GG's house.

Turkey bowling was as competitive as always. There was even a bowl off which included several people. Emily came out the clear winner and was crowned. Millie didn't get a strike but she held her own. Maybe next year.

Goodbye to a friend

It was a sad day on Thursday when we learned of the passing of a friend, Shelly. Shelly and I became friends first on my local message board. We went to the same OB and she got pregnant shortly after I did. Shelly was the president of the Atlanta Gator Club and was a big supporter of both Sidebar and Engine 11. In fact, Sidebar was the first place they took little Ella after she was born! Of course it was a Gator game. Shelly looooove the Gators, maybe a little more than Mat does. Can you believe it? She was an amazing contributor to our message board and was a lovely friend. Shelly's pregnancy was very high risk and we were sooooooo happy that she actually got pregnant. Shelly wanted so much to be a mother and on her short time with Ella, she certainly was. I love reading her blog and seeing what Ella was up to. She was so very very proud.

Shelly lost her battle with Crohn's disease on Thursday. She had been in the hospital for a few weeks, had some bleeding complications, and unfortunately, it all took a turn for the worst. I am FB friends with both Shelly and Tom and her family was great about updating friends on Shelly's status. Over these past weeks, we knew her condition was very serious, but it was so devastating to learn that she had died. Shelly left behind her 8 month old daughter and her husband Tom. Click here for Ella's blog.

We went to the memorial service today and clearly, she was love by many many people. I ask for your prayers for Shelly's family. If you would like to contribute to Shelly's family, please visit: http://shellygator.blogspot.com/

If you want to read some lovely thing about Shelly, click here to hear from her best friend Traci...http://www.thehartogs.com/

With all the events this week, I can't stop thinking about how lucky I am to have a wonderful husband and daughter. A supportive family and lovely friends.

Oven Mitts

Millie is loving the over mitts. Well, anything in the kitchen really. But especially the oven mitts. Enjoy the pictures and the video!

Music Class

In November we started taking a weekly Music Class called...The Music Class. It's right down the street from us and is a great thing to do on Saturday mornings. She is really loving it and Meagan is too...as you can see! I'll try and get some better pictures next week!

chickenpox?

Nope, just an allergic reaction to Amoxicillin. And Amoxicillin is in the Penicillin family so she is allergic to that too. Poor thing! At least there are alternatives to take if she gets yet another ear infection. Thank goodness we were able to get in to see the doctor on Friday. She is getting a steroid for the next couple of days but it could get worse before it gets better. However on Saturday, it didn't look as red and irritated. We go back in to check her ears next week. We want to make sure we get the all clear because ear infections can easily come back.

update and video

Millie is on the mend thank goodness. Dr. D said that both of her ears were pretty gunky. This ear infection was her 4th. Dr. D said one more, and she might have to get tubes. Hopefully she will stay healthy in the coming months.

On Friday she got her flu booster as well as her H1N1 vaccination. We go back this week for her 15 month vaccinations. They wanted to make sure she was healthy before she gets those. I have lots of videos coming up so get ready.

I have been slacking on the pictures/videos so here is a quick catch up if you want to look at even more Millie pictures.

Teething woes

Written on Sunday (11/1): Millie's top two molars are coming down and causing some major pain. Totally opposite from her bottom molars. She is pretty bi-polar these days. She is happy, smiling, playing one moment. Then all of a sudden she is very sad, crying, throwing things, big tears, the works. We are chalking it up to teething because she spends most of the evening asleep but kind of moaning/crying. We are giving her medicine but it only works for so long. Poor thing! Hopefully this won't last for long! We need our sleep!

Time change didn't help either. She woke up right on cue like always...however Mat and I were still fast asleep. Oh well, hopefully we will get her right by the end of the week!

Update as of 11/4, Millie had her regular check-up Wednesday with Dr. D so it was perfect timing since Millie had gotten worse since the weekend. Double Ear Infection. Millie's on amoxicillin for awhile. We know from her getting sick in the past that once you start the amoxicillin, this will pass soon-ish. She hasn't been sleeping well during the nights or at nap time. Hopefully she will now. Keep you posted.

This is a picture of Millie while we were on our way to go vote on Tuesday.
