Atlanta Shower weekend / 35 Weeks
What a fabulous weekend! My mom, Terry and her best friend Ellen flew in on Thursday. Mom and I did a bit of running around and settling in for the weekend. Friday Mat and I had to work so the ladies set off around Atlanta with our car and GPS. They toured 5 points and had a great time. After I got off work we had a great dinner at Sidebar with Ellen's family. Nancy and Caroline flew in that night.
Saturday we had a great brunch at Radial and stopped at the Farmers Market. After a quick change we were off to Pavan's for the shower. Her house was decorated with such cute decorations. Tons of food! Lots of friends were already there! We had such a nice time chatting with everyone. It was great to get caught up on everyones lives! The gifts were amazing. I got TONS of new books, some clothes, lots of stuff for the nursery, diaper bag and genie, more books, a fabulous bike trailer, etc. We got tons of great items. As I opened a gift, the gift-giver would give me a slice of Mommy advice. No matter if you were or were not a mommie, they gave me a little bit of help. I am still thinking about all the wonderful words that were said. Thank goodness my friends videotaped the shower so I can go back and remember all the words of wisdom. Baby T is certainly loved!!! As am I and Mat. We have a remarkable set of family and friends.

After the shower dwindled we headed for dinner and ice cream.
We had to say goodbye to Mat's family on Sunday. It was great to have them here to visit. They are all soooooooo excited for Baby T's arrival. Can't wait to see them all in a month when she gets here.
Sunday afternoon we took a trek to Babies R Us to put those Ohio gift cards to work! We shopped for waaaaaaaay too long but it was so helpful to have Mom there to help me pick out all the good stuff. We tested gliders/rockers for several mins. It was just nice to sit down! After spending ridiculous amounts (thank you family) at BRU, we headed to Costco where we continued our spree. I didn't know it but a digital SLR camera was in my future. I might be scared to touch it now but I won't be later! I can't wait to test it out and play around with all the settings. Finally Mat doesn't have to hear me whine about getting a SLR! I have one of my very own!!
After a long day of shopping, we rested up and had dinner. Next up, more maternity pictures!! I didn't really like my dress choice for the pictures below so I changed and we took some more pictures around our house, in our yard, in the park near our house. Mat and Siler were a good sports and we had great time. Here are a couple of my favorites are below. We cleaned up the babies room and put away almost everything. What a relief!!

Today was pretty emotional as I said good by to my momma. I was dreading it all weekend. She is, as always, such a big help and we will miss her. It's times like these that you want/need love and support from your family. Thank goodness they are all just a call away.
5 weeks remain before d-day! Who knows how long she will stay in there. I am feeling really good. Yesterday was tough but we were going all-day-long. My legs felt like they are about 200 pounds each. They look it as well! My feet are still pretty sore in the mornings but after I get going, I'm okay. Mat said that I look a little bigger at the end of each day so I must be growing at rapid speed! Bout' time!! We have a maternity tour of the hospital tonight. We will find out where we are supposed to check in, see the rooms, ask lots of questions. Should be good stuff. Wednesday we have a doctors appointment. We are going to finally find out if she has flipped and/or dropped. I am thinking she has done both but I have no idea!

34 Weeks
Well, the Ohio shower this weekend was great!! I wasn't able to take many pictures so I am hoping others did. Kari sent me some pictures so I will send those out. The Ohio shower was a gift card shower which was so nice because I didn't need to bring stuff back in suitcases. So Mat and I are going shopping soon!! They also did this really nice things where everyone wrote down a piece of "mommy advice".
Mom and Kari put them on a board and framed it. It's going to be really nice to read the advice from time to time. Everyone brought a book so that our kiddy library is growing!
My friend Katie did this series of 4 paintings that match our monkey bedding. They are really cute and they match perfectly. We will probably hang those tonight. I'll take a picture tonight! Kari got us a baby journal and we filled part of it last night. I remember reading the baby journal that my mom made for me and my sister. It's nice to fill out one of my own. We were traveling non stop Monday. We dropped Terry off at the Columbus airport. Then we drove to the Dayton airport. Then flew to Atlanta. After I got home, I started to notice that my ankles were feeling tight. I look down and they looked like huge sausages!! So I went in and laid on the couch with my feet up. I looked it up on the internet and it says to be careful when traveling in your 3rd tri, drink water, put your feet up when you can, and do some exercises to get the blood flowing. None of which I was doing much of. So I drank lots of water and Tuesday morning they were not swollen so I went for my workout.
So just 39 days left! I think the baby flipped (head down) during the drive in movie on Friday night. I am feeling a bit different but still comfortable, just different. Next doctor’s appointment is next week and then I start going every week. My mom and Mat's family comes in this Thursday. Can't wait for this weekend!
Karla noticed that I wasn't wearing my rings at the shower. They were getting tight so I thought I would go ahead and take them off for now. Just in case I couldn't get them off later. I feel kinda weird without my wedding ring on but oh well.

My feet have gotten mostly uncomfortable. They are so sore when I take my first steps in the morning. No matter if I wore tennis shoes, heels or flip-flops the day previous. They just hurt. Guess it's cause of the extra weight and whatnot. Plus I have super flat feet so shoes have never been my friend. I felt bad wearing flip-flops to work although they really don't care here. So I got a pair of crocs that I could wear to work. They look like mary janes and are really cute and stretchy. Yesterday was my first day wearing the crocs and they are really nice. They are light and feel pretty good on my feet. I bought a size 9 which is my normal size but I think my feet overall have gotten a bit bigger. Kinda strange!
Mat and my single traveling days are over. Mat and I were waiting in the airport talking about how this was our last trip without a kiddy. Traveling is going to be much different from now on!

33 weeks (a little late again)
Only 47 days to go until baby T!! We had a doctors appointment this morning and that went really well. She just measured me and listened for the heart beat. All is well. We go back in 2 weeks (at week 35). She will then check to see if I am dilated and do a Group B streptococcus (GBS) test. GBS is a type of bacterial infection that can be found in a pregnant woman. If postive, I just do some antibotics so the baby doesn't get it. Anyway, she said all is well and that's good. So I go back in two weeks and then every week after that. I just want to keep her in there till 37 weeks and then I will be a happy camper! The doctor said that it's too early to tell if the baby is head down yet. But the doctor said that we should be able to tell in a couple weeks.
My first shower is coming up this weekend in Ohio! I literally can't wait to get home and see my family and friends. Should be a great time! I will post pictures as soon as I get back.

32 weeks (a little late)
So this weekend was crazy busy so sorry for the delay. I am 32 weeks as of Sunday. Woohoo! Another milestone week for us. I can’t wait to go to the doctor but we have to wait another week. I was on my feet alot this weekend but I felt pretty good . No Braxton Hicks contractions yet so that’s great news. Not looking forward to those (as I guzzle my water bottle). It's nice to be home (in Atlanta). But I can't wait to go to home (to Lancaster) soon! I'm kinda homesick. Chloe and Courtney look like they have changed so much. I miss them! We have lots to do in Baby T's room this week. I am riding around with the car seat in the back of my car...just in case! We are taking infant CPR this weekend so that should be interesting. June is busy busy full of classes, showers, work, etc. But I am looking forward to it all!

Memorial Day weekend

Some pictures from this weekend at Jon and Judy Brown's. They are great family friends of our family. They live in Caldwell, Ohio. Jon/Judy's daughter Jody and her family came over from Pittsburgh. This is their little girl Juila & Chloe playing with some rocks.
This is Julia, Chloe and Courtney having some red wagon fun times. To see more of Dad's photos, click here
Mat and I spent the weekend in Sandusky, Ohio for my friend Karla's wedding. We had a great time all weekend. Cleveland Indians baseball game, Cedar Point, and I think Baby T might still be dancing on Karla's dance floor! We had a great time and I will post pictures tonight.

Our doctors appointment went well today with a new OB, Dr. Soufi. I have only gained one pound which is good. She checked the heartbeat, 120bpm. And measured me, 31cm which is right on. And then we asked any questions. Our regular OB, Dr. Sun, is on maternity leave and is actually delivering her baby today! Don't worry, she will be back in time to deliver Baby T. We go back to the doctor in 2 weeks.

31 Weeks!
Another great weekend. Our friends welcomed their baby into the world this weekend. Austin John Campos was born this weekend and everyone is doing great!

I am feeling lots of Baby T movement in the mornings which is great. She must like George Clooney (like her mommy) cause she was moving all around as we watched "Micheal Clayton" this weekend. We bought the last remaining piece of furniture from Ikea for Baby T's room. We haven't put it together yet but I will take pictures once we do. We have another doctors appointment on Wednesday. We are going every 2 weeks now for a check up. Hopefully all is well. Other than that, we are getting ready to go to Ohio for Karla's wedding this weekend. Should be great to see all my friends again.

30 weeks!

30 weeks! I can't believe it. Time seems to be flying by which is great. On Saturday, Jess, Matt, Amy, Amanad and I did the Race for the Cure 5k. It was in honor of Jess's mom Julie. It's a great fun race to do. It was alot harder than I thought it was going to be. Pretty hilly amd I was pretty pooped by mile 1 but I powered through and made it.

Sunday was Mothers Day. We enjoyed calling all the ladies in our lives, telling them how much we appreciate them. We are lucky to have so many fabulous woman and mothers in our lives. Baby T must have been thinking about me as well. She gave me a great gift, I saw my belly move for the first time! Granted it kinda freaked me out and Mat & I couldn't stop laughing but it was a great gift.

I spent alot of time on the couch on Sunday. Mat spent alot of time out in the yard creating a couple of our raised gardens. Can't wait to get some tomatoes and lots of other great goodies that Mat planted.

Here is an update on Dad's nose. He made it to NJ and was in good spirits all weekend. He is getting it realigned today. Yikes!
So we flew to NJ on Thursday after a small delay.
Gobbled up some Chinese food with my parents and Mat's parents. Check my parents into the hotel and went to bed.
Friday we picked my parents up and headed to a diner for some breakfast.
Took the train into the city and went directly into ground zero. They had just opened up the train tracks that run through the site so it was kinda eery. Mom/Dad hadn't been to ground zero so it was nice to take them there.
Went to Century 21 to do some shopping.
.
Took the subway to the MOMA and toured that for a couple of hours. We met up with Katie and her husband Michael who were in town as well. It was great to see them again. Went to Union Square for dinner with Dan, Caroline, Terry, Jon and my family. We had tapa's at Pipa. Super yummy but I think you all know how I feel about tapas. You never get full!
Anyway, we headed to the theater to see Fuerzabruta.

It was just as cool as the first time we went to see it. Everyone talked about it all weekend so it was a big hit!
Went for some ice cream and headed home to NJ.
Saturday was the Tainow Kentucky Derby party. We picked up the parents and had some breakfast at the Tainow's. Then everyone started arriving for the party. There was probably a little less than 50 people there. The race was at 6ish. It was a great time with lots of people, friends and family.
Sunday was Fran's birthday party. We picked up the parents and had about 20 for breakfast at the Tainow's. We all got dressed and headed to the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey. It was a lovely party. Her art show was amazing. So many family and friends, many who I had not met yet. My parents were there. Everyone was surrounded by so much love, it was fabulous. Lots of pictures and speeches honoring Fran. It was a great time. Mom and Dad had to leave for the airport.
We picked up some pizza and went to Fran's house to reminisce about the party. We looked at all of the "90" scrapbook pages. Each one so individual and unique. Some were plain and some were elegant. It was a great time.

After our weekend in New Jersey, we flew back to Atlanta and headed straight for the doctors office. I had been fasting all morning and Baby T was NOT happy. Usually you have this test early in the morning. Due to a scheduling mix-up, I had mine at 1:30pm. Needless to say, I was a hungry hungry girl. Mat survived my yelling and complaining and got me there for my glucose test. Hopefully it was worth it and I passed. I should know later this week. I checked out fine. I was measured and she said I was right on target. My weight was great. We listened for the heartbeat, all good. Answered all of Mat's questions, all good. Got our admittance paperwork for the hospital. After it was all over, we ate a huge lunch/dinner at Cheesecake Factory. Yummy!29 weeks: CHECK!

So we leave tonight to fly to NJ for my Mat's grandmother's 90th b-day. My parents are flying over from Ohio to come for the weekend. They have never been to my Mat's hometown. They are going to meet just about every family member Mat has ever met. We have a fabulous day planned in NYC for Friday.

So my dad was playing basketball last night with some of his student and got conked in the nose!! Mom/Dad sat in the ER for about 3.5 hours to find out what they need to do. After some x-rays, he has an "open fracture of the nose". What the crap is that?!?! Is it broken or not? They are sending him home with antibiotics and it's up to my dad to see if he wants to get it popped back in-line. Dad should make the decision in about a week. He would then have to go to an ear/nose/throat guy. ANYWAY, holy crap. Dad is going to me DH's family with a couple of black eyes!! What a weekend this is going to be!!
Feel better Dad!
Update: I talked to Dad and he is back to work today. He is feeling okay, swollen, but okay. I will see the damage for myself tonight!
