We were all very excited about first trip to the dentist! Millie knew all about the dentist and what she did so when we arrived; she was cool as a cucumber. I however, was running late, forgot my camera, went home and grabbed my camera, got there and it had no memory card in it. Millie informed me that I could just take pictures with my iPhone. So sweet :-) So here are the videos. I will post the pictures in another post.
The dentist office was really great! They have a play area for kids with books and a train table. The office staff was very nice and friendly. The nurse was soooooo kind and totally put Millie at ease. She took the time to explain all the tools and made fun games up and had her play along. She got to see her x-rays on the TV which she loved. They put Dora on for her to watch if she wanted. The doctor came in and was very sweet and quick with the cleaning. Millie (and I) loved the experience. I am actually thinking of switching there myself since currently I have to drive to Buckhead. I am a fan for sure!!

Grandparent Visit
The Tainows came to visit and Mat and I were able to hit Gainesville kid free! It was wonderful not working around nap times and bedtimes! We had a great time with our friends Kelly and Tom.

Kelly couldn't stop giggling in the Gator van. She was uncontrollable!

Meanwhile the Tainows were up to thier knees in music class, playgrounds and farm animals! Millie, after much coaxing, even rode on her first horse!

A Saturday with Mommy
Game Day. A busy day at the bars. So we let Daddy sleep in a bit while Mike, Katie, Meagan, the kids and I went on a bike ride. In the end, everyone had a great time. But, of course, there were some tears along the way.
M & M started in the bike trailer with Meags behind Katie. All was well till Milo started to scream. So we stopped and moved him on Katie's bike, while Meagan and Millie road with me. They watched some Dora, stopped for a pee pee break and everyone got back in. Finally Meagan had had enough of the trailer and wanted back with her momma. Stopped for another pee pee break. Meagan changed her mind and decided she wanted to ride with Milo so back Meagan & Milo went in the trailer and Millie was with Katie. All in all, it was a good trip. Hope to do it again soon.

PS: bike ride pulling 50 pounds is an excellent workout.
We drove back intown and hit up the sprayground.

We had some lunch at our favorite, Lottafurita.
Nap.
After nap with played with some chalk. Millie drew a banana.

And then we were tigers
Then I decided we would do a bit of spring cleaning. As I was pulling out toy after toy, Millie would yell "remember this mommy?". Milo thought it was Christmas morning because there were toys left and right that he had never seen before. I didn't get any "before" pics but this is a "during" pic.

And here is what we bagged up for donation.

I am pretty sure we didn't buy any of these toys but THANK YOU to all that did!
And the after pics

Millie put some of her toys to bed while I was cleaning

And requested a picture to be taken with the doll she dressed up "for a wedding". And yes, she was aware that the doll didn't have pants/skirt on. Seems to be a trend in the Tainow household.

Then we had some dinner

And talked about this...
Followed by some Gator football...
...where I answered alot of questions about football. Some I didn't have a good response for but she seem to enjoy the game.

little shopping carts
Millie has been talking about "little shopping carts" since she was in NJ over the summer. The only place I could think she saw these were at Trader Joes. I have seen the little carts that pint size toddlers push around to help parents and keep them entertained while they are collecting groceries. So on Monday I took the kids for a special treat! To see the little shopping carts at our local Trader Joes.
Um, they didn't have them at my location. Millie was disappointed but we had fun anyway.

Learning the lyrics
Within the past couple months, Millie has started really trying learn lyrics to songs and sing along. Even to popular songs. This was Millie riding home from school singing to the new music class CD which we got on Saturday.
Feeding Milo
This kid is a picky picky eater. Not sure where he gets that from?!?!? Here Millie is trying to encourage Milo to eat some califlower. She is such a good big sister. PS: the sign he is doing a the end of the video is his version of "all done".

Watching Buzz
Sometimes flipping on a DVD will allow Mat and I some time to chat in peace. Toy Story is one of the only movies that doesn't drive me bonkers. I actually enjoy listening to all 3 movies.

Fall Music Class
Saturday I had to work then we took the kids to music class which they LOVED! Milo was stunned that he could dance and sing for an entire 45 mintes! Millie, Meagan, Barrett and Avery picked up like they had never left. They knew just what to do. It's great to see them both grooving to the music, dancing and participating.
My apologies for the parental singing and the shaking camera work while dancing. Get ready for more music class videos as this was our first class of the fall season.

And so the Barbie begins
We were able to meet up with my best girlys Amy & Amanda. They wanted to give Millie her birthday presents since they were out of town for her birthday.
Disney Princesses I can deal with and I really like. Despite Millie having not seen any Disney princess movie as of yet, she likes them all. And some more than others. She knows who they are. She loves dressing up like a princess. I have always been a fan of Cinderella. Millie currently really likes Ariel. She doesn't like Belle much. She knows Courtney loves Sleeping Beauty. Etc.
Barbie dolls are unfamiliar to me. I think I had a Skipper doll once? Sorry to all of those Barbie Dreamhouse fans, I have always thought Barbie dolls were super lame and silly. BUT, I am trying to be open minded and told my girlfriends that if they bought them, of course Millie could play with them! Well, they did. And they kinda haven't left Millie's side since. She took the pool Barbie to the pool. In the bath. In the car. In her bed. Even Milo enjoys playing with them. And let me just tell you how far Barbie has come. She has bendable knees! She is still is unrealistically thin as a rail, very voluptuous (which Millie has pointed out to me several time), bright blond hair, blue eyed, perfect make up all over her face. That being said, she actually does do some fun things.
Like spring into action high atop of her lifeguard chair. She practices safe water maneuvers with her intertube. She of course looks very trendy wearing a modest one piece bathing suit, shades and platform flip flops.

The other Barbie has a hobby, she walks doggies. She has a stroller that she can stand up at. She can walk a big dog with a leach. The big dog also attaches to the dog stroller so they can walk along together. They stroller provides shade for the small dog in the basket.

Now, there are too many pieces already and Siler is eyeing all of them. Getting her to clean up ever flip flop is tedious and painful. I still find them extremely annoying but I would never tell that to the girl (and the boy) who are loving them.

Where have I been?
It's been pretty busy at the Tainow house so sorry for the lack of blogging. I have been doing photoshoots which I love! And spending my evenings editing which I hate. But I have really been focused on exercising after work and getting my body back in check.
On Monday's I am working out with my half-marathon buddy, Jackie.

Side note: You want a funny read? Follow Jackie's weight loss blog. She is the bomb diggity friend, mom, coworker, and writer. All those things you think to yourself, about yourself, and your weight loss journey, Jackie tells it to you straight. And in a very humorous way. Add it to your google reader.
On Tuesday & Saturday's I am taking a crazy running class which leaves me in quite a bit of good pain. I am sure if you were "walking up a hill" at a 30% incline on a treadmill, you might burn 900 calories in one hour as well!
Wednesday I have been squeezing in a swim.
On Thursday, my friend Chris and I have been heading to the Silver Comet Trail for a pretty vigerious 20+ mile bike ride. Last night we headed to Stone Mountain for a very VERY hilly bike ride. My thighs hate me this morning.
On Friday and Sunday, I usually take off. Check back with me in a couple months to see if any of this is paying off. Or if I am laying on the floor in exhaustion. Right after I did my half in March, I signed up for it again next year. Maybe this time around, I will be in a little bit better shape!
So onto the kids...isn't that what this blog is about anyway?
We have been doing a little of this.

And this...

And getting some QT in with daddy like this...

And found a perfect In-town Atlanta "field" for me to take pictures in that looks like this...

And looking cool like this...

And this...

And teething like this...

and getting a picture SOOC like this of my beauty...

And having no words for my baby's lashes...

And playing with this doll quite a bit cause her daddy was outta town! We had a great time with Meags!

Pool playdate
On Saturday we met up with some special friends. I have a great group of former coworker girlfriends who all worked with me at one time. Many have gone on to do amazing things at home, in mommyhood, in school, in other departments at CNN. We love to occaionally get together with our kiddies. Jen had us all over for a pool playdate which was a great time.
A wide section of her community pool is 3 feet so Millie was loving walking all around the pool without floaties on. She couldn't get over the fact that she could touch and walk around in the pool! Her swim classes are certainly helping her with confience. I have recently seen some kids her age, actually doing some stroke swimming which is pretty darn amazing. We will get there.
I grabbed my camera late and missed taking a pic of Carolina (Caro-leena), Cecilia's little girl. But here are Jonathan and Lillian (Margie's kids).

And Rachel (Jen's little girl).

And my two.
