Playground with Papa Jon

We evacuated the house to let those who cook, cook. And boy did they ever cook! Clearly, the kids are not fit for the Florida heat. Their skin kinda turned a white/red because they were coated with sunscreen and were hot from the heat!

Florida Playdate

Trying to get caught up on posts! We flew to Fort Lauderdale to visit the Tainow family for Passover. We hadn't been in 2 years and were eager to visit with all of our family and friends! On Saturday morning we headed over to the Garzon's for a playdate with all of our friends.
Michelle & Edison and their triplets, Elisabeth, Elyna and Edison.
Allison & Jeremy and their son Austin
Misty & Rick and their daughter Mia.

Milo slept the entire time and woke just at the very end. The kids got along swimmingly and it was wonderful to see them all playing!

That night we went out to celebrate Allison's birthday which was a blast! Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for babysitting!

Healthy Wednesday

Wednesday was a day based on health. Parents brought in healthy snack and they focused on exercise. The entire school went for a little parade around the school. I lifted these pictures from Facebook. Multi-Cultural day is on Thursday so everyone has focused their learning this week on a particular country. In Milo's classroom, the father of his little buddy Milan, is from the Czech Republic. In Millie's classroom, one of her teachers, Miss Laura has some family heritage in Cuba.

You can see Millie holding Miss Tawanna's hand in a t-shirt that they designed. It has the Cuban flag painted on the back. And you can see Milo in the red stroller in the very very back left corner.

Wacky Tuesday

On Tuesday we were instructed to dress the kids "wacky". Whatever that means! This was as wacky as I could get. Her tutu and a tank + a camo vest, both from Milo's closest. Obviously Amelia's mom and I have similar tastes. A's mom is pretty much a kids fashion genius, clearly displayed by her Wonder Woman t-shirt here. So the school had a bounce house that I am pretty sure the kids were in all.day.long. When I got there, they were allowing kids to go in only with a parents. A's mom wasn't there yet so she was pouting. She is the cutest pouter I ever saw.

Milo was wearing a "I do my own stunts" shirt and some fun plaid shorts. I was not very creative with him. He didn't seem to mind. To see all the pictures, click here.

Monday Jammie Day

This week is "The Week of the Young Child" at school. Each day the entire school has a theme. Here is a bit about the program. The Week of the Young Child, in its 40th year, is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). The purpose of the Week of the Young Child is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.

Monday, all the kids were to dress up in their jammies. Millie didn't get why Mommy and Daddy were not going to wear theirs to work. Click here for pictures of M & M in their PJ's. Of course I am always practicing with different settings on my camera so sorry so many duplicates.

Orange and Blue

It kills me to post this but here you go. That's my girl.

Actual lyrics:
So give a cheer for the orange and blue
Waving Forever
Forever Pride of old Florida
May She droop never
We'll sing a song for the flag today
Cheer for the team at play
On to the goal we'll fight our way
For Florida.
