July 25:
Holding his head up for long periods of time
He calms down at the sound of mat or my voice
Looks like he might have red hair!

August 1:
Might have an outtie belly button
Does not like the hiccups!
Sleeping longer stretches
Growing bigger and fatter/chubbier!



August 2:
Noticing alot more cooing noises

Double Doctors Appointment

We had a double doctors appointment today with Dr. Sells. Milo's 2nd appointment and Millie's 2 year appointment. Both kids checked out fine and Millie got her 2-year shots. Millie got to use the big girl scale and height chart. She is growing up so fast!!

Florida Part 4

Magic Kingdom

Here are the pictures from our Monday at the Magic Kingdom. It was a long hot day but Millie and Milo hung in there. We were there just after the park opened and stayed till the 11pm fireworks. The girls were wearing matching skirts which they loved.
Millie loved the Monorail or "mon-o-mail".
She didn't cry during the fireworks (she may have been too tired).
She kept her 4-d glasses on during the movie.
She loved riding on rides with her cousins. Honestly, she would pretty much do anything Courtney would do. It was fun to watch them together.

We were hot. Sooooo hot. But everyone was able to get hit a couple air conditioned spots to cool off.

We went to a Princess lunch in Cinderella's Castle which was a blast and I highly recommend it if you little does or doesn't like (or know) the princesses.

The girls loved the Electrical Light Parade. It was really fun to watch them, watching in amazement of all the lights and music.

Florida Part 3

Daytona Beach

I am not going to lie. Milo got burnt on the first day. I don't think you can even begin to imagine the guilt I felt. He was in the shade all day but the sun still got to his fresh, fragile. 3-week old skin. I certainly got many dirty looks about taking my 3 week old to Disney, you can imagine what looks I got adding a sun burn on top of it. It was awfully red so we kept lotion on it. It peeled. Then peeled again. Honestly, I don't think I have ever felt worse as a mother :-(













Millie wasn't loving the ocean. But she loved the sand and played there most of the day with Papa D and Daddy. We went to dinner as a big group. Together with Jarrod's family, we made a nice group of 16! Click here to see the Daytona pictures.

Florida Part 2

The man

So the wee one is coming right along. It's been tough not taking a picture in every outfit we put him in! He still has the pretty deep blue eyes. We had him in a Florida Gator outfit today and they were just beaming blue!

He is really locking on objects now. Following objects around, moving his eyes together. His skin is still very flaky. His hair/eyebrows seems to be really light, and getting lighter. He still has little zits on his nose. His eyelashes are getting longer and prettier.

He is waking every 3 hours (almost on the dot) to feed. The only other time he cry's is when he needs a diaper change. He has been a really good sleeper except in the mornings when he doesn't want to go back to sleep after that 6am feeding. He seems to be really upset unless he is upright. Sometimes we let him sleep with us in the bed because we are too tired to wrap him back up and put him in the cradle.


He likes to be swaddled at night. He has grown out of his newborn outfits and is in 0-3 month clothes now. Don't worry, we have PLENTY of those! The amount of clothes that this boy has is truly astounding!

Milo loves his pacifier! We have been caught without it a couple times and boy that wasn't a good idea!

That is about all I can think of right now. He has been such an easy baby...just like his big sister!

Turning a new leaf

I am turning a new leaf on the blog.
Yes it is easy to post pictures.
Yes it is easy to post videos.
But I haven't posted alot of words lately.

Millie is acting and saying some pretty crazy funny things and I am either going to start keeping a quote book, or start posting them on the blog.

Plus I want to start writing down all the cool things that Milo is doing as well. So you all hold me to my word!

Funny Behavior: Last night I was all finished feeding Milo and I asked Millie to go get me a burp cloth.
Me: Do you know what that is?
Mil: Yes Mommy
1 minute later she proudly returns with the green bathroom mat in her hands saying "here mommy! here!"

We had a parent teacher conference with Millie's lead teacher Miss Tawanna. She had some great things to say about how Millie was doing. It's so great hearing about all these cool things she is doing at school. All of the things she is learning and experiencing. We learned she is very advanced in her vocabulary. There are several kids that are way behind where Millie is currently. Empathy is her strong characteristic. If someone is upset, she gets down and gets in there face and says, "it's okay, it's okay." She hugs them and kisses their boo boo's. She hangs out primarily with Christina, Amelia and Bailey. It's not all fun and games. The girl does not like to share. She also does not like ending one activity and moving on to the next. She throws a fit each time. She loves art and asks everyone if they are done with their art because she would be happy to finish it up for them. She pee peed on the potty the other day but still hasn't done it for us at home.

I say "for us at home" because she did it for Mom at home! Granted she thought she was Siler and peed on the potty outside on our deck! But it was the one and only time she has potty'ed at home. Yes, we are going to start full on potty training in just a couple weeks!


Millie found Mat's top hat from the wedding and was wearing it around in her birthday suit. I seriously can't make this stuff up!

She is really into putting the dog or her dolls in time out. Even though we have only put her in time out just a handful of times (maybe 3), she loves threatening the dog with time out. Or putting her dolls on her time out spot in the house.

If anyone is seated, Millie likes to helps us up off the ground. She grabs our hand and tries to yank us up up up!

"Right There" is her new catch phrase.
Papa Papa, that is yellow right there.
Mommy, I dropped my cup right there.

I will try and be better about my blog postings! Jot a little funny something down whenever I post a picture or video of the kiddies!

Florida Part 1

To Orlando

Drive to Orlando

The kiddies were great on the way down to Orlando. We left early, car pooled with Mom/Dad and made good time. We made our first stop at McDonald's, a first for Millie. Granted she didn't eat much cause she had 3 banana's in the car. The rest of us ate some breakfast and played in the play area. Hopped back in the car and drove to Gainesville. Ate Burrito Brothers in the Swamp (Mom/Dad's first time in the Swamp) and continued on. Those were our only stops outside of the car. Millie napped. Milo napped. Millie figured out that we have a DVD player in the car and tried to figure out how to keep the headphones on her head. We made it there just a couple hours after the Kern's. Birthday Morning

Millie spent her birthday morning wearing cupcake pajamas, eating Papa D eggs, and sitting on the potty. Oh, and wearing this hat.

Class Birthday Party

Today we had Millie's class birthday party. A few days prior, I ordered a cake from Publix. They apparently don't make cake custom so I couldn't get a bee cake. They do have a magazine I can flip through and pick one. Most are Disney, Sesame Street or some sort of Princess-ness. Millie wouldn't recognize any of them. But she has a soft spot for Elmo so I chose a Elmo inspired pull apart cup cake cake and it worked out well. From experience, no blue and no red icing. Believe me, it takes ages to get off their skin! We brought the class the left over bee stickers and bee blow horns that Grandma Terry had purchase for Millie's Bee-day party. The horns were a big hit once the figured out how to use them. Then the kiddies proceeded to destroy them in typical 2 year old fashion. There were tears and screams over horns, stickers and cupcakes. But don't worry, the teachers had it all under control.

Later that day I went to the infant orientation for Milo. I learned all about how the infant room works and met several of the other parents and kids. Milo won't be the youngest as Millie is in her class. But he will be the second to youngest. His teachers will be Mrs. Rita and Mrs. Vikki. These two teachers will stay with him through his remander at Sheltering Arms.

Millie is also moving up to her new classroom starting on August 9. Her teachers will be Ms. Twanna and Ms. Laura. Ms. Twanna is her current teacher and they really share a special bond so I am glad she is moving up with the class. Ms. Laura will be new to Millie but seems to be a great lady. We can't wait for her to start!

Zoo with Mama & Papa

Since she had a doctors appointment this morning, we decided it was okay for Millie to play hookie from school. She spent the day with Mama and Papa D at the Atlanta Zoo. Click here and enjoy the pictures!

Little Orange Dress

Mom made Millie this cute little orange dress for the summer. Put in a blue bow and it's a new Gator dress! Millie wore it to her follow up appointment at the ENT doctor. Dr. Sipp gave Millie a clean bill of health. The tubes are still in her ears and seem to be doing the job. We are so happy that we did this surgery for her.
