Video shoot pictures

These are from back on March 11. Remember that video shoot we did in March? There was a photographer there as well. He was snapping pictures for the website and whatnot. The commercial was for these bumpers that have spaces for pictures and/or video. Millie was quite taken with the product. The video commercial is not finished yet but I will post when it is. I was pretty happy because Mils and I finally got some nice pictures of the two of us! Millie's buddy Vince was there that day too. Click here to see his pictures! Click here to see Millie's pictures. Below are some of my favorites. Enjoy!

The O'Tainows

She looked cute as a button and I think they had alot of fun today. My mom made Millie these St Patty's babylegs. We have been saving them for the day and today was the day! She and her buddy Ellie Fitzpatrick were wearing the same outfit. They looked so cute! Ellie's outfit spoke the truth though. Millie was just posing as a little Irish girl as we have zero Irish in us.

I bought the class little "Wee bit of Irish" t-shirts and they seemed to love them. Priya took a class picture where all the kids are wearing the shirts. The little ones are getting to big for the t-shirts so for Easter, I got them all something else. I still think they will enjoy them!

After school today we met John, Julie, Amanda, Iver, Katie and Mike at Engine 11 for a beer and some dinner. Engine had live music and lots of people enjoying the patio. To enjoy pictures of the day, click here.

Crawling 2 (video)

She has kinda gotten the hang of it after awhile. On hardwood floors, she just kinda scoots around using her hands to pull herself across. Enjoy!

Swinging Sunday

On Sunday we went for a picnic in the park with Millie's buddy Vince. They have a tiny play area for little kids. We stuck mostly to the swings since Millie isn't too mobile.
Enjoy the pictures of the little guys!

FDR State Park

Mat had off the entire day on Saturday! It was so great to spend some time together as a family. While Mat got some work done, Millie and I took Siler to the vet. Millie was so pleasant despite the 45 min wait to get into the room. And another 15-20 for the exam. Quite a trooper. Siler got a clean bill of health and looks excellent. He talked about how great her teeth were. Anyway, woohoo Siler!

I wanted to take advantage of the day and go hiking because the weather was just amazing. We started our day trip with plans of going to the "Little Grand Canyon" aka: Providence Canyon State Park. It was a good 153 miles so it was going to be quite a drive. About 1/2 through we started to reevaluate our destination. We were very close to Callaway Gardens but wanted to find something different. After a promise that we will go back to Providence on another day, we settled on FDR State Park. We had a nice short hike. Wasn't as long as I wanted but we all got a late start. I barrowed Pavan's Ergo Baby Carrier and it was REALLY comfortable. She felt so light and easy to carry! I might look into getting one. I would love to do some more hiking with it.

After the hike we gathered up and went to Oscar's Steak and Seafood. According to the website, it is in the middle of a cow pasture. And it really is! We thought we couldn't go wrong! It wasn't quite up to all the hype but the service from our waitress and owner, Kimbo (real name Kimberly), was great. It was a great day and Millie was zonked before we even got out of Oscar's parking lot!

Enjoy the pictures from the day! Mat was trying to take pictures and trying to hike as well, some are not the best photos but you get the "picture".

Annie and Morton

As a first stop on Annie and Morton's vacation, they visited us in Atlanta. Annie is a dear friend of the Tainows, and now mine. It was the first time we met Annie's boyfriend Morton and he was a pleasure. He and Annie had a great time playing with Millie at Engine 11. We wish them happy travels to Florida!

Wave Millie, Wave!

More swingin' (pictures and video)

Remember this?

She has grown...just a little :-)

Know what a photo shoot looks like?

Here is an example of me taking Millie's 7 month pictures. It's quite tricky because the best light is right at the back patio doors. Not much space to work with sometimes!

Snow Day Sad Day

Although we had ton of fun yesterday in the snow, today was quite stressful when Atlanta City School canceled school early this morning. Our daycare follows Atlanta City School closures and therefore we had to scramble for alternative care for Millie. I think Millie face here describes our feelings today.

Do you think one day I might become a teacher and not worry about all this?

Sun-day Snow Day

It snowed like crazy today! It was so fun to watch all the huge snowflakes come down. Millie couldn't take her eyes off the falling snow. She even got to taste it just a bit. Click here to see the pictures.

In her 7th month of birth

It's been a great 7 month everyone! I am growing bigger and getting smarter everyday! I have 7 things to tell you about myself now that I am 7 months.

1. I started making this fake coughing sound to grab everyones attention. My teacher Priya always comes over and tends to my every need. I love it when my mom does it, and I do it back to her. It always makes her laugh.

2. I am learning a couple new signs. I pretty much have the sign for "milk" down pat. I am learning the sign for "more". But I get alot more accomplished when I bang my hands on my highchair tray. But nobodys likes it when I do that.

3. I am about ready to crawl so WATCH OUT! I can get up on my knees and rock. I am also doing this tripod thing where I push my butt in the air like a wheelbarrel! I am not getting very far but it sure is fun! So fun that my mom and dad had to lower my crib in case I got any naughty ideas.

4. I am eating all kinds of fun things now. Pears, apples, peaches, sweet potatoes, squash, carrots, apple butternut squash, plums, etc. I hear talks of adding meat into my diet which sounds very cool.

5. I have learned how to wave. I basically flap my hands and laugh. It's great fun.

6. I am 100% on formula. Woohoo! I absolutely love to grab the nipple of the bottle when it is full of milk and squirting it all over myself and anyone who is feeding me! It's great!

7. I starting eating rice cakes which are quite tasty. The kinda melt in your mouth. I am also getting used to drinking out of a sippy cup and sometimes a big girl cup! I love water just like my mommy!

Grandma T

It's been quite awhile since I posted last. It's been so busy in the past couple weeks, I don't know where to begin!

Well, Grandma Terry came to visit which was awesome! Mat and Jose took a trip to "business" trip to Las Vegas. I am not sure how much "business" they took care of but Mat came back a winner and that is always a good thing!

Unfortunately Mat missed Grandma Terry's visit! We had a great girls weekend without him. Terry came in late Thursday and has a very funny taxi story. I will let her share that with ya. Friday I was off to work and Terry had a wonderful day with Millie. It sounded like they had a ton of fun. Friday night we went to dinner at E11 with Pavan & Jeevan. Katie, Mike and Mike's dad were in as well and we had a great time chatting up with everyone.

My friend Julie, from college, was in town this same weekend. Taking advantage of the fabulous live-in babysitter this weekend, I was able to go to brunch with the girlfriends! It was great to see them and hang out with Julie. It's good to have such friends right when you need them. I have a friend that is going through a tough time so I was glad to be there for her.

Saturday afternoon we packed up and heading to do some shopping with Pavan & Jeevan. I picked up some new shirts which was a great relief. Having someone watch Millie while you are in the dressing room is wonderful! At dinner, we gave Millie's booster seat a 2nd try and it worked great! So now when we come in to a restaurant we have a
booster seat
diaper bag (that seems to be getting heavier)
Millie in a car seat
It's quite the spectacle!

Saturday night I got to go out with my girlfriends which was a blast.

Sunday we went for brunch at E11 and rounded out our trip at Intimacy with some fabulous purchases. It was a great weekend with Terry and we were so happy to have some family around.

Our tickets are booked for Florida and we can't wait for more family time!

Pink girls

Millie and I were pink on Friday in support of Brook, who lost her twin baby girls, Sydney and Carynne earlier this week. In January, the twin girls were diagnosed with Werdnig-Hoffman disease. Their funerals are today, which is also the day they would be six months old. Send your good thoughts and prayers to Brook and Jake today.
