Barnegat Lighthouse State Park

We took a short 7 mile trip to the Barnegat Lighthouse. It was crazy hot and sunny so we didn't stay and enjoy it as long as we would have wanted to. And this day wasnt the day to hike the 217 steps to the top. Mat has many fond memories of going here with his Grandpa and family. We did enjoy going and hope to go back again!

Anniversary Evening

We love celebrating Jon and Terry's anniversary at the beach! They have been married for 39 fabulous years and counting. I did some quick calculations and Mat and I will be the ripe old ages of 68 and 72 when we celebrate our 39th anniversary in 2045.

What did we when we were not on the beach?

We went on lots of bike rides (that's Millie in the back!)


They loved it


We listened to lots of music on our fabulous deck


We ate lots of fresh fruit for breakfast




We ate snack on our deck


We braided our hair for the first time on our deck


We took nice long naps



We ate at Woody's


We ate at Woody's TWICE!


Sometimes we chatted on the computer


Or wore some awesome shades from Aunt Nancy


We listened to the ocean in a shell


We rocked in rockers at the fudge store


We went in and then out of this door about 1 million times.


We took more naps


Played with transformes from Aunt Nancy


We talked on the remote phone to several people


And one night we whipped out the iPhone to keep them entertained while the big kids cooked dinner for the adults.


We visited cousins also staying in LBI


We took naked naps (this nap was well over 5 hours)


We played on Daniel


We almost were able to touch fingers!!


We spiked our hair with sunscreen


We had pant-less parties with cousin Jonah (Millie is pantless but not in view in this picture)


We ate rainbows


And watched lots of pretty sunsets


We had lots of evening cocktails and appetizers before dinner


We walked to the beach through the "secret path" that Millie found for us each day


We watched fireworks while "sitting on the dock of the bay"


We walked to brunch


We zipped home past all of the stopped traffic coming onto the island which we had sat in the week prior


Back in Westfield we bought Lemonade from a kids lemonade stand


And we fell asleep reading a book

I didn't take my camera to the beach but one day, for fear it would get sandy. But she took lots of great pictures to make up for it!

Here are some of my favorites from one day at the beach, taken with my camera.

Millie, for the most part, stayed out of the water. She watched from afar.


Sometimes she helped fly a kite


Which she loved


Sometimes she surfed...but from the land


But then sometimes she would make her way down to the water


And as long as Papa Jon, Mommy or Daddy was there


She might get a little wet


Any then run away with glee!

And go back again


And again


Milo enjoyed surfing


He liked to slide


But this sand crab looooooved the water


He loved everything about it!


He did this for the majority of the day


Weeeee!


And then the kids would catch a ride home on Daddy's blanket. I could not stop laughing so sorry the picture is kinda wonky. The kids just hung on and Mat ran with them draging behind on the blanket. They would fall off and do it again. Hilarious.
