Skyview Atlanta

Grandpa Jon and Grandma Terry came into town to visit. We were so excited to see them! We took them right to the place the kids have been dying to go to....Skyview Atlanta -- a 200-foot high, skyscraping Ferris wheel. It has moved around to from Paris (located across the street from the Louvre Museum) and Switzerland, and then on to the United States via Pensacola, spending about 16 months in each location. But it is now settling in Atlanta. EU8C9528 This is a good picture showing you how close ParkBar is to the wheel, and to CNN which is in the upper right corner. Mat and I still work just steps from each other :-) EU8C9529 EU8C9531 Each gondola holds up to six people, climate control cars—which were cool and comfortable on the hot day we visited. As the wind picked up a bit, our car swayed, which was the cause of M & M's reaction here. EU8C9534 EU8C9536 EU8C9537 EU8C9533 EU8C9542 EU8C9544

Atlanta Streets Alive!

Atlanta Streets Alive is about closing streets to cars and opening them to the public — for 4 hours — to create a whole new healthy, sustainable and vibrant city street experience. IMG_2863 The vision of Atlanta Streets Alive is to encourage Atlanta to develop living streets — streets that appeal to pedestrians, bikers, businesses and neighbors. Streets are publicly owned assets but on most days are used mainly by cars. On this day, people can regain ownership of the streets they pay taxes to build and maintain — and transform them into crazy fun healthy, living streets for all to enjoy. Worm Bin

Fresh from thier recent wedding, Daniel and Caroline came to visit us in Atlanta. It was WONDERFUL to have them here for a visit. Dan and Caroline spent Thursday with Millie's class creating a worm bin. Here are some pictures from Millie's teacher. Millie is finally 5!

So Millie turned 5 years old AGES ago! Well, just on July 22 but it feels like ages ago! It rained here. We were busy. It rained some more. And we never got a chance to do her 5 year old photo shoot! So we ran outside the other day and although we did not have enough bug spray on, we got some magical pictures of a little tea party.

My little 5 year old. She is super sweet, helpful, loving, athletic, creative, musical…all when she wants to be. She takes showers by herself now, gets up to an alarm clock and gets herself dress. She remembers what we are doing on the weekends and counts down to those special days. She remembers everything. Millie is so helpful with her brother and you can tell that they are good friends. She still will eat anything and everything. Doesn't matter if she doesn't know the name, she will at least try it. Millie knows no stranger as she walks right up and becomes fast friends with anyone she meets. She sure is stubborn and has a selective listening issues that we need to get a doctor to look at (wink wink). But all that being said, we love her with every single bit of our hearts.
